Riley kissed his cheek and hugged him, "I'm sorry you had to sleep on the couch" she told him and walked out the door and starting towards his car so they could go eat. (Wb)

Sarah smiled and took the plate. "This is one food I do know about." she giggled, and looked around. "so, where do we eat?" she asked. Her eyes were still dull because she was in the process of waking up still.

Vern smiled, happy that he was at least a little close to something she liked it seemed. "Small table over to your roght," he said, taking the plates off the island and over to the small three seater table. Walking back to get the glasses he got out the last batches of waffles and brought the butter and syrup to te table. "So, I did ok as far as breakfast goes?" He said with a small smile sitting down in a seat.

Sarah chuckled. "Yeah, you did great. I love waffles." she said. She smiled and walked over to the table, sitting and placing her plate in front of her. "Do you say grace before you eat or no?" she asked. She didn't want to be rude and start eating without saying grace if he did that. It wasn't unusual for her not to, because her family wasn't religious in the least. She just wanted to make sure.

Vern looked at her carefully. "Honestly, not usually, though I have no offense with praying before we eat if it's something you do. I usually just try to cover all that before I go to bed at night," he gave a small smile. Religion was something he was raised up in but he no longer went to church or prayed over meals. He really let himself go in that sense, but he still believed in the things he was taught and tried to be the best he could to people. He hoped it was enough overall, but didn't worry as much as he probably should about it.

"Ah, I was just asking..." Sarah said. Her eyes glittered, as she smiled slightly. "So, shall we begin eating?" she asked, watching him. Her mouth was watering, because it was noon back in Germany. She eyed the waffles, and tied to keep her stomach from growling.

"Yep," Vern grinned, taking the butter and slathering it all over his waffles, the syrup right on top next. He broke them apart with ease and took a huge bite. He grabbed a couple of napkins from nearby. "Sorry, I guess I'm a little bit of a messy eater." He didn't bother to say anything else, just took a sip of orange juice before eating more waffles.
