- immediately, filomena knew this was a mistake to be here. despite this, she trusted noel one hundred percent, and figured that she might as well go along with what was happening. by the looks of the other males, they seemed to be just as confused and a little shaken as she felt. running away still hadn't set in with her; she would panic at the smallest things that were minuscule when she was at home with her family. her eyes rested on the other girl, taking in the nod and then the count of three. it took mena a little longer to step out from behind the tree, as she'd heard that other male's words about hinting at the girls behind the trees, which she assumed was aimed towards them. who else would be out in the woods at a time like this?
the girl stepped out, her eyes taking in the sights of the three males entirely now. the dog still made her a bit jittery, but she paid it no attention as she kept her composure and took a few steps forward. her hands held the straps of her backpack, black hair hidden away in the beanie she wore. her bangs peeked out of the beanie nevertheless, and she kept her eyes on the three of them without letting her gaze flicker around incessantly. she was having issues trusting the males, though that was probably just because her trusting skills were atrocious. she could hardly trust anyone anymore; she doubted her best friend would even take in her trust.
the ravenette spoke up then and there, deciding that that was enough time of staring: it was time to suck it up, take on her fears, and not appear like some bashful little girl. she was more than that; she was an empowered young woman who had the ability to talk to strangers, despite just meeting them in a forest she spent half of her time in. "i'm filomena," she spoke, her voice coming out a little softer than expected, but her tone was firm and almost rude. she wondered if it was obvious she was trying too hard, and simply allowed herself to take a few steps closer. the toe of her boot dragged a little in the greenery and dirt underfoot, and she let out a sigh as she stared down for a moment. being in a group would be hard to adjust to-- if they wanted her in the group, that was.
the man who was speaking caught her attention for a moment. his words were thought-provoking and she couldn't help but let her mind wander. "you don't want to be found?" she asked, her voice still just as gentle as expected but dotted with curiosity and a little bit of cruel humor for herself. "that's interesting. if you don't want to be found, you could move away to a whole different country. start life anew." the thought drew a smile to her slightly-chapped lips. "i've thought of doing that. too bad i'm near broke and couldn't afford a plane ticket-- one way or not-- if i even tried."
