Joel chuckled and took the jar of sugar before taking out a spoon.Once he had added his sugar and hers he put the jar away and poured in the water before mixing it"Milk?"he called out again as he stirred.

"No thank you." Nunki replied, her long, wavy blonde hair hanging over the arm of the grey couch.

He took out the teabags before carrying the tea over to the coffee table"The one with the dots is yours and the plain one is mine"he said before sitting down on the couch,sinking into the material.He let out a groan before rubbing his eyes.

"You're tired Joel." Nunki stated, watching him rub his eyes as she drank some tea out of the dotted cup.

Joel chuckled weakly"I'll try to get some sleep during a day off"he said with a sigh before sipping some tea from his cup.He gently drummed his fingers on the cup before taking another sip,repeating the action multiple times.

Nunki looked down and sighed before looking up at Joel and asking him the question she has been dying to ask, "Joel, why were you gone for...a long time?"

He froze for a second before starting to rub the mug with his thumb"Some...unexpected things happened"he said quietly before biting the side of his cheek to not start crying.He stared at the tea in his mug before looking at the coffee table.

Nunki nodded, "Pretty understandable." She said, noticing that he was biting the inside of his cheek, so she decided to let it go, because, from experience, that usually meant something bad had happened.

Hearing his phone buzz,he stood up"Excuse me"he said weakly before going off to find his phone.He sighed when he saw the message,it was the almost identical twin of the one he had received earlier.He put his phone in his pocket and trailed back to the couch.

Nunki nodded, the warm tea making her a bit drowsy...after about 2 nights of not sleeping. She yawned and closed her eyes, her breathing even she went deep into slumber, unconscious of anything around her. That was how exhausted she was.
