"Why?" she asked, running her thumb along his hand. They weren't deep, just normal boxing wounds pretty much. She stood up, holding out her hand for him.

❝ Brooke leaned over the rail in her balcony and looked down below at the heart shaped pool. I took another drag of my cigarette and puffed the smoke out in hoops. I hoped someone would come out and be near the pool, so at least I could have someone to talk to. I turned around to see Molly peeking around the corner of the door. I smiled happily and put out my hand. She padded over and licked my hand. I gave her a pet and a treat from my pocket. I then continued to look over the rail.
