Sophia woke up frowning with tears leaking out of her eyes, the same way she did every year on this day. This was the day. It was so hauntingly present, she knew exactly how the day would go: her family would walk on eggshells around her that morning, she wouldn't have to go to school, and everyone would stare at her with pity. She hated this day and will forever hate this day. She drug herself slowly out of bed debating if it was worth it or not. She fed her rabbits on the way to the shower. Once she was out she threw her hair into a messy bun and grabbed a sweater and yoga pants. When she got downstairs her parents were already eating and the looks they gave her made her want to run back up to her room and curl into a ball. She couldn't take anymore pity. She said a quick goodbye and grabbed her car keys. Randomly she decide to drive to the park near her house where she used to play. It wasn't too crowded but not completely empty either. As she made her way to the swings memories started to resurface. Once she sat down the tears started, then she couldn't stop them. She cried all over again for her friend. She remembered sitting here the day they met, they were only 6 years old. A little boy pushed a girl off the swings and she was crying so Sophia walked right up and punched him. Ever since then they were friends. Sophia was always the strong one, she still has to be the strong one.

He woke up groaning, it was monday. He hated school. He slammed his hand down on the alarm secretly hoping he hadn't broken another one. He didn't need another thing for his parents to complain about. He quickly showered and then threw on a pair of jeans with a t-shirt almost tripping over Milo. He picked the cat up petting him for a little before setting him down on the bed and heading down the stairs. It was the usual; mom made breakfast, dad was reading the newspaper, then dad brought up business and Kayden grew quiet. His mom bothered him about not having a girlfriend and his dad bugged him about classes. After a quick, but mostly silent breakfast with his parents he hopped in his car and drove to school. He wandered into the hallway frowning at all the people he had to deal with. He went to his locker and threw his bag in grabbing his notebook and the homework due for his first class. Slightly ignoring the guy trying to convince him to go to a party that night he glanced up and saw a girl. He liked the way she was just watching everyone not to mention that she was beautiful.
