Marilyn laughed slightly. "Not his girlfriend, then..." she thought. "Um, hi, Diana. I'm Marilyn," she said, smiling at the girl.

Diana looked at the girl and put a smile on her face, "Nice to meet you" she said in her normal tone.

Marilyn smiled, sitting back down. "So, um, do you want to sit and eat with us?" she asked politely.

Diana looked at Marilyn and laughed at her comment, "Im already sitting..." She told the girl, opening her mouth and replying to her eating, "cafeteria is just a bunch of junk food. I'll skip" she told her.

"Don't like junk food?" she said, smiling as she fingered the empty box of fries. "I live off the stuff, admittedly," she said, laughing. "Unfortunately."

$History$ When Maria was 6 her mother passed away by cancer. She doesn't remember her mom that much but she knows that her mom is probably better than her father. Now that I mentioned her father I should say something about that; When Maria's mother died, her father was overwhelmed with distress and grief so much that he started taking it out on Maria. Maria has wounds on her body because of how abusive her father is. When Maria turn 10 she ran away for two years then came back to her father. She now lives with her father, but he still is abusive.

$Anything Else?$ Maria and her dad don't get along that well. School is the only place that she can escape from her abusive father. She tends to stray from anyone that comes near because she doesn't want anyone to see her wounds.

Maria sat at a lunch table, her left arm aching. It was bruised on some parts. Why did her father still abuse her? The answer was unclear to Maria. She picked through her food, not hungry.

Stephen bought a sandwich, some chips, and a bag of cookies. He glanced around the crowded cafeteria, not seeing his friends. He noticed a girl sitting alone at a lunch table by herself and walked over to her. "This seat taken?" he asked, running one hand through his hair.

Maria looked up at the guy. "Nope, go ahead and sit there," she said. She looked back down at her food, not making any motion to eat it. After awhile she finally took a bite out of her sandwich and chewed.
