Tugging at a piece of string that hung off the end of her sweater, Autumn glanced around the candy shop for the fifth time in a row. So far only one person had come in, and they didn't even buy anything. I wish I would have applied for the pet shop instead She thought with a sigh, mentally marking it as her eleventh sigh of the day. At least I could play around with the little critters, here I can't even eat a piece of candy without them taking it out of my pay. She thought, leaning back in her chair that was behind the counter, glancing around the empty shop for the sixth time.

She straightened up, turning around and rubbing her neck. " Yeah! " She really hoped he didn't see her making ridiculous faces at the fish. She grabbed some bird feed, walking into the bird section, walking in the doors, gently opening cage by cage, putting 1-2 scoops of seeds into the bowls. When she was finished, she couldn't help but glance over at the guy. She never caught his name, and she had to admit, she already had a *little* crush on him.

Jack casually strolled into the pet store, his hands shoved into the pockets of his khaki cargo pants and a corner of his tattoo visible from where it peeked out of the collar of his Ghostbusters t-shirt. Rubbing the back of his neck, he glanced around the store to see if he could find an employee to help him. He saw someone in the bird section, and casually strolled over. "Excuse me." He said in a soft voice, not looking her in the eye, "But I was wondering if you could help me with something?" His voice was quiet, almost shy, and his green eyes looked everywhere but at her.

She was staring at the guy who promised to give her the Docscratch and Vriska COSplay. She heared a voice, and nearly fell backward in surprise. " Uh...uh... Oh yeah! " She chuckled, rubbing the back of her neck. " What is it? "

Jack chuckled breezily. "I'm sorry. Didn't mean to scare you. But I was wondering if you have any rats? Or where I could find them? It's my little sister's birthday in a couple months, and I wanted to do some... planning. She loves rats." He cleared his throat, deciding he had rambled on long enough. A small smile curled at his lips as he awaited her answer.

" Of course! Thanks for mentioning it too, I need to feed them. Right this way. " She led him to the rodents section of the store. " None of them are reserved, so just look around. If you have found anyone you like, tell me when I'm done feeding them. " She smiled, beginning to pour food into their bowls.

He followed her, his Vans making a small squeaking sound on the polished floor. He thanked her, and bent down to look at some of the lower cages. That's usually where the Standard rats were kept. He smiled at one of them, who looked up at him curiously and twitched her tiny pink nose. He knew that it was best if he get two, because rats got lonely easily. He saw one with a cream-colored coat, and another one with a mousy brown colored coat. Both appeared to be female, and a quick look at the tags gave affirmation. "Perfect." He murmured to himself, and stood up to meet the employee who was feeding some of the other rodents. "If I can, I would like to reserve the two Standard rats in the lower left-hand cage." He told her thoughtfully, hearing her mention that none of them were reserved yet.

" Of course, when would you like to take them home? She looked for the forum buckets off to the side, grabbed one forum and a pencil, handing it to him. " The number codes for the rats are at the bottom left corner of their cage. "

Jack took the forums, grabbing the pen in his left hand. "I'll be taking them home February 25th." He beamed, quickly writing down the information and the number codes for each of the rats. His handwriting was neat and somewhat small, but he had a tendency to write in all caps. Handing her the form, he amused a thought as he turned to look at the two rats he had claimed. "I'd bet myself all the money I have that she'll name them Rose and Jade." He almost whispered, laughing quietly and shaking his head. "Or Roxy and Jane. God forbid she name them after Vriska and Terezi." Realizing the employee was standing right behind him, he coughed into his hand and hoped she hadn't heard him talking to himself. "Thank you. I'm sure she'll be happy."
