Masquerades. The only dance you can do whatever you want, and no one knows its you. After all, that’s what the originally used for. Men would go to the dances and commit crimes and the police never did catch the thieves. Women would go and flirt and act 'immorally' and the men never knew who was flirting with them. It was a night to act however you wanted, and no one would know. Centuries later, masquerades where not seen as often. Perhaps at Mardi Gras or teenager birthdays. Never are the publicly open to anyone. Until now.

You have been invited to participate in a masquerade, the invite signed 'The Chapman Family' Which you know as 'The Royal Family'. Why? Because they are royalty pretty much. The richest family, the prettiest family, the mystery family. The family that was known by all. The family that never hosted parties, but was invited to all and any party, near and far.

Rumor has it that they family was ancient. Some people whisper that they are vampires. Of course those were the rumors...but anytime the children was asked they just laughed and looked at there siblings with knowing eyes. So they have never denied it....but they haven't proven it true either.

You have to admit, the fact the family will move locations every 20 years or so is odd, and 20 years later they will move back. And the fact that people go missing, or end up dead around them. Or how they always get there way.

Either way, you plan on finding out the truth on October 31st. The date of the ball. How you find out is up to you....or if you even find out at all, perhaps they aren't vampires. After all...vampires don't exist...right?

The Vampires

Creatures of the night, they feed and survive on the blood of the living. Normally on human blood. They are able to withstand sunlight, although they normally wear sunglasses as it often hurts there eyes. Supernaturally beautiful, they are often able to get what they want from just pure beauty. When they can't, they are able to use mind compulsion.

Young vampires (newborn to about 5 years old) are often prone to lashing out any human nearby, and draining them of blood. A vampire can only go about a week with out blood before they will probably attack anything that has a heartbeat and has blood moving through it. Anytime a vampire gets hungry or starts to hunt, there eyes become red, or mixes with red depending on how hungry or how immediate the hunt is (examples of red eyes Xx). Also when hunting or being hungry fangs will appear, however, older vampires can control when the fangs appear, while young vampires (up to 100) may sprout at random times (examples of fangs XxX). All vampires fangs normally show when they smell human blood. When agitated or provoked they often bare fangs at there enemy and hiss or growl.

Vampires are often solitary creatures who live alone, or with there mate. They occasionally will live in packs or covens of vampires. Normally posing as human 'families'. Vampires often live along side humans with out problem. To be turned, a human must ingest vampire blood, and then die within 24 hours of drinking the blood. A single drop of blood is enough. If the human is willing or not to drink the blood, dose not matter. Vampire blood can also be used for healing purposes.

Vampires posses multiple 'talents' including super strength, and being incredibly fast. The younger you are, the weaker they are. The older vampire are much stronger. They also lose strength and gain strength by consuming blood. If they go without blood, they will start to become weaker, while if they drink blood, they will become stronger. However, even a newly made vampire is strong enough to break bones, and toss humans with ease. Speed wise, they can accelerate their movements to cover short distances in an instant, faster than the human eye can see. When running across long distances, they appear as vibrating blurs of motion. Their reflexes are similarly heightened. Like their strength, their speed increases with age.

Vampires can control dreams and the subconscious, giving them the ability to produce and modify dreams, bestow nightmares and lucid dreaming. They are also able to distort reality and trap a human in their dreams. Vampires also have extremely keen senses of hearing, sight and smell that far exceed those of humans and werewolves. They can hear whispered conversations, even ones in far off buildings, smell blood, and see in total darkness. As said above, vampires have the ability to influence and control minds, plague people's dreams, and alter and erase human memories.

A vampire stops aging once turned. Upon their transformation, vampires then on become immune to all conventional illness, disease, virus and infection. Vampires heal extremely quickly, but still feel the pain of a wound before it heals. Vampires can snap their bones back into place after being broken and have been seen to fully recover from gunshots, stab wounds, and torso impalement. Vampires can take a great amount of damage without being slowed down.


Vampires have few weaknesses. Dismembering or removing the head of a vampire, staking a vampire with a wooden stake, and removing its heart will kill a vampire; however because of there senses, speed and strength, it's rarely done by a human. Myths about vampires include breaking a vampires neck (it will not kill it, but it will render it unconscious for few minutes), garlic, holy items, mirrors, shapeshifting, souless, and the fact that there hearts don't beat.

All vampires (male and female) are unable to have children. If a female is pregnant at the time she is changed, the baby will die. Humans do not believe in vampire. Most believe they are creatures of myths.

Name ; Her name is Isabella Mary Chapman-Adams. Isabella is Spanish for God's Promise. Mary is English,and Biblical name, meaning Wished For, Bitterness and it also has a biblical meaning, which is Jesus mother. While Chapman is German and has multiple meanings. Chapman was not her original surname, Adams was. Adams is English and also has multiple meanings. Including being a name for a male. Although she has two surnames, she is only known by 'Chapman'. As she got older, and times changed, she stopped going by Isabella and shorted it to the nickname 'Bella' which is Italian and Latin for beautiful. Her 'siblings' have also created a few nicknames for her – Izzy, Bells, B. and Isobel although she doesn’t exactly like them.

Age ; Bella was turned when she was only 17, which at the time, was full grown. She was married to a young, wealthy man and already had twin babies when she was changed. She was born on July 17th, 1812 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was turned into a vampire on August 9th, 1829 when she was caught in a fire.

Gender ; She is very much a female. She has everything that qualifies her to be a woman.

Looks ; Bella was pretty before she was turned, but now she has more of a supernatural beauty. No less, she is still gorgeous and chased after by men. She has light Burnett hair which falls to about her mid back. She has light chocolate brown eyes normally, but when she is thirsty, or hunting her eyes will take on a reddish tint. She is about 5'6 and she weighs in at 130 pounds, give or take. Her skin tone is a tanish color believe it or not. Beside her single ear piercings, she doesn’t have any body modifications. Although her teeth are straight, and normal looking most of the time, if she is hunting, or about to drink, fangs will appear. She can also make her teeth appear at will.

Personality ; Bella is even tempered most of the time. She is pretty easy going, and doesn’t go looking for a fight like some Vampires do. She is a bit stubborn at times, but most of the time, she is up for just about anything. She is still a bit old fashioned, and if asked, will do anything a guy tells her to. She is a bit shy at first, and doesn’t talk, but once she gets to know you, she will become more lively. She finds some modern traditions odd, like how girls aren't expected to wear a dress all the time, and that they can wear shorts and jeans like boys. She has learned to control her thirst, and unless she has gone a while without food, she isn't going to attack. She views humans as both food and friends. Although she will drink live, she normally drinks from blood bags. She will not, however, drink from animals. She has tried it before and figured out it is disgusting. She has a soft spot for dimples on a guy, and babies in general. She is one of the more friendly vampires, willing to talk and make friends with just about anyone. She is incredibly smart, and is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin and Portuguese.

History ; Bella was born in the 1800's into a wealthy, high class family in New Orleans, Louisiana. Girls were expected to sit, and be pretty. They weren't supposed to deal with animals, and they were to play with dolls and to learn how to knit and sow. How to weave the sheep's wool, and how to make it into clothing. They were supposed to learn how to cook, and perhaps, if you were lucky, go to school until you were about eight. So like all children, she learned to be seen not heard. It continued to stay that way until she was 14, when boys started to court her. Being from a wealthy family, 'Madame Isabella' was only courted by also wealthy men. Ranging from 16 all the way up to men in there 20's and 30's. Not that she had a say in who she married, it'd be up to her family.

Now at the time, there was an incredibly wealthy family who lived in La Nouvelle-Orléans (as it was still called by the French) and had a son named Andrew. When Andrew began to court Isabella, he was only 18. Andrew was known all around, his family owning a large piece of New Orleans, but no less, Andrew was handsome, he was young, and above all, he was rich and un-married. Isabella's family was thrilled that Andrew fancied Isabella, and being a girl, she was thrilled to. They were married immediately, Isabella being only 16 when they were married. They were happy, the new couple, they were wealthy, they had slaves catering to there every want, and Isabella was expecting a child the next Spring. Spring came and Bella gave birth to a healthy, curly haired, dimpled little girl and boy who were named Zachariah and Abigail.

They were happy once more. That was, until the fire happened. It was a sunny August morning, it was hot out, and the slaves were cooking bread as normal. Isabella was upstairs with her personal slave, Elizabeth, and the babies, nursing and playing with them. A ember got out of the fire as the slaves were baking, a fire sparking. The year had been dry, the fire growing quickly, the house catching fire. Elizabeth, Abigail and Zachariah escaped the fire. Isabella did not.

Now what the people of New Orleans didn't know, was that Isaac and Francis, two traveling Italian men where vampires. Francis had a mate, named Rebekah. Isaac did no, and he fancied Isabella. For the past month, she has been secretly seeing the Italian man. How could she resist? He was so beautiful. The night before the fire, he had confessed his secret to her. He was a vampire. She was horrified at first, but she decided that her secret lovers horrible secret wasn't so horrible. She allowed him to feed off of her, and she drank some of his blood. She drank enough that when she died, she became a vampire.

Although she wasn't to happy at first, and she was devastated to find she had to leave her children, the new vampire left her home, traveling with the other three vampires back to there home in Italy. There she adjusted to life, she learned to control the urges, and how to use compulsion, how to get 'easy meals' and how to avoid the occasional hunter. After a century of living life in Italy or Spain, she decided to leave. Isaac was devastated, they had become mates after all. He tried to convince her to let him come, but she decided against it. Girls were able to travel alone now. She left Spain, traveling back to New Orleans. She meet a new coven of vampires there, the ones that called themselves by the surname of 'Chapman'. Some older than her, some younger than her. She was invited to join there 'family' and she accepted the invitation.

She has traveled with the Chapman family ever since. Moving with them, acting as there 'siblings' or 'daughter'. Even going to school again.

Name ; His name is William Charles Petrov-Chapman. Born William Petrov, he didn't take on the names Liam or Chapman until much later. William is of English origin and means 'defender' 'warrior' and 'protecter'. At the time, English families did not have middle names. Petrov is Greek and German for 'Rock' or 'The Rock'. He didn't take the nickname Liam until the late 1900's. Liam is a shortened form of William and is also of English origin. It means 'Protecter'.

Age ; Liam was born in the fall of 1531. As the birth records were awful then, he doesn't know his exact birthdate. However, his Christening date was October 10th. So he was probably born in early October. He was changed at the age of 20 in December 1551. He is 483 as of now.

Gender ; He is very much a male. He has all the parts that classify him as a male, and he would be more than willing to show you if asked.

Looks ; Liam is tall, at 6'2. He is masculine, and is often 'oozing testosterone'. He is very much attractive, and he knows it. He has curly brown hair but he keeps it cut short. He has very high cheekbones, and paleish skin. He has long eyelashes, and slightly flushed cheeks. He weighs about 200 pounds. He can control his fangs, and they only appear when he wants them to, or when he smells blood.

Personality ; Liam is a flirt, he's hot and he knows it. He is very stubborn, and just about drove his creator nuts for the first 10 years. He likes getting his own way and is often a self-appointed leader. He is very headstrong, and doesn't like being told what to do. He doesn't really like humans, and normally views them as a food source, and food only. Although he may romance one for a day or so.

History ; Born in the 16th century, in England, William did not come from a high class family. In fact he was just another son of a farmer. He grew up as a farmer, mending the fields, and animals. He had four sisters and two younger brothers. As the eldest son, he was expected to do a majority of the work. Girls knew him near and far however, even the wealthy families knew William.

Because, supposedly, his mother had an affair and he was the bastard son of a royal advisor. Either way, he was cute. And girls liked cute guys. No less, he fell for a young girl from his village named Catherine when he was only 16 and she was 14.

When she was 16, and William 18, he got permission to marry Catherine, and they did. It was a small wedding of course, neither family had much money, but they were happy. Catherine became pregnant, but sadly she died giving birth to their son, Henry.

Devastated, William left for a while. Giving baby Henry, to his one of his younger sister and her husband. He left England and sailed to Spain. William unknowingly had just set the stage for him to meet Rachel. And meet Rachel he did.

William was at a bar when he first saw Rachel. Her hair was the first thing he noticed, bright red and curly. The second thing he noticed was her beauty. Supernaturally beautiful. She noticed him, how distressed he was. She volunteered to 'help'. He of course accepted, thinking she was just another prostuitute, she of course wasn't. She was, however, a vampire who was looking for a companion. And she had decided on William as a companion.

She changed him, making him an immortal creature like herself. They traveled together for almost three centuries, until he decided to leave Europe, and to go to the USA. They split up and he became a nomadic vampire in the United States. It was at that time he took on the name 'Liam'. No longer going by William. After traveling the US (and some of Canada) he decided to settle in New Orleans. He met the Chapman 'family' there. After a bit of coaxing, he joined the family, although every once in a while he will leave
