Claire laid back, shutting her eyes as she let the cool green tentacles of the field engulf her. She lifted her hands, setting them accross her shoulders, as if embracing herself. It had finally come, the day she always knew was coming, the time where her poor excuse of a family left her for her abandonment. Well, at least Jesse had come. What would she do without him? Claire groaned in annoyance, opening her eyes to stare up at the pale sky. "I'll find a home. An abandoned barn or something...No, I'll make ourselves a home...but with what?" Claire mumbled to herself, "No, too much work. I'll find somewhere. I'm loved...maybe.. Only Jesse cares for me, thats why you were abandoned in the first place." The girl argued as she used to with her mom, only this time, no one could here her silly explanations and excuses. "Arghhh." Claire let out, sitting herself upright and covering her head with her hands, feeling useless and unwanted. But, maybe this is what she wanted all along. Claire finally had escaped her family's clutch, she finally was with her best friend. Thats what she prayed for every night, thats what she got. Claire guessed she better make the best of it, but it still didn't seem real to her. She had her mind set that it was a nightmare. Just a dream...

"Tray, quit it....Tray, Tray!" Jesse laughed, pushing the small dog from it's attack of kisses... or in this case, wet puppy licks, all over his cheeks. The dog obediently retreated and sat quietly panting at his side. Jesse sighed slithly, resting his head upon his hands for a moment before running his fingers through his hair. He was tired, aching from the journey to find his best friend. He guessed his parents were probably searching for him by now...or not, they could be partying. Who cares about the old family. This was it now, this was his family. Claire, Tray, and himself. The boy stood from the rock he had placed himself at, and made his way over to Claire, he could here her silently arguing with herself a little further down the field. "Are you alright?" he called out, a tenderly, caring tone echoing through the gentle breeze.
