Coral wouldn't open her mouth again so she took out her coal and wrote the word, "Beatings." In jagged letters. Coral turned away as a single tear escaped her eye. Then she wrote, "Monster. Monster beatings. He." That's all she wrote before walking back to her corner and sitting down. She doodled on the wall she was facing. She began to draw a forest, with deer and trees, and birds.
I know why
the caged bird sings.
A caged bird stands
on a grave of dreams,
his shadow shouts on
a night mares scream.
We think the caged bird sings,
when indeed, he cries.
The song of a bird,
can never be caged.
