Sage nodded and turned around so she was facing him"Tell me what's going on...it would always help me when I was younger"she said as her blush disappeared.

Fane sighed and sat back against a rock, "Well, it all started when I was 13. The year my father started beating me," He began, "Well, my nightmare, it was that day when he started beating me. He bur-burne....burned my si...sister. Ju...just to torture me. H...he we-." Fane closed his eyes, as talking about it just brought to many memories.

Sage slowly stood up and walked over to him before sitting down beside him"Take a deep breath,I know it's hard to talk about it...I've had nightmares for most of my life...usually ones caused by a real life experience"she said before rubbing his shoulder comfortingly.

"Yeah." Fane took a deep shaking breath, "My dad went on about how the whole village knew that he despised me with his cold, cruel heart. I....That was tr..true. I....I couldn't take watching my little sister b...burn, so I...I curled up in a ball and...there were tears coming down my cheeks. M..My dad didn't ca..care. He just went right over and started...beating me...until I...I was black and blue." Fane's body started shaking, he couldn't help it. The tears started flowing freely from his eyes as bringing back the memory is becoming too much for him.

Sage carefully wrapped her hands around him.She hummed quietly and rocked him back and forth gently.It seemed weird...even awkward that she was doing this to a grown man who had tried to kidnap Nunki but at this point she didn't care.

"I...I didn't want to kidnap anyone. My dad threatened me that he'd kill me if I...I don't kidnap the new princess. After that, I ran away." Fane said wrapping his arms around Sage, feeling more comforted.

"It's okay...How about we talk about something more...positive?Like...what you want to achieve or do"she said as she slowly rubbed his back,it made her feel better inside when she helped someone...usually sporting a happy aura for her.

"Well, I don't really know what kind of achievements right now. Let's just stick with the fact that I'm finally away with my dad and with someone that is skilled with the forest. That's positive...right?" Fane said, chuckling a little, feeling a bit better.
