I sighed and walked down the steps of our old house. It sat just a few feet ffrom where the beach began. Seeing the beach instantly brought on the horrible thoughts of that day. All I can remember was screams and everything seeming like it was in fast forward. I tried to block it out but I just couldn't. We had been worst enemies but just a few days before it seemed like we were making a friendship. It wad awkward but still it was better. No matter how many times I remembered it I always thought that it should r been me instead. The sudden gust of a breeze brought me.back to reality. I walked out onto the beach and looked around.

Hannah and her giant wolf, Blackie, run into the water. Her blond curls fly out behind her as she dives forward. Her racing suit doesn't hinder her at all but her jean short shorts soak up water. Once Hannah is away from everyone else and in deep water she fingers her silver whistle, considering calling the dolphins.

Hannah is open and on the beach.

I watched as a girl flew into the water and went out pretty deep. I tore my eyes away long enough to go get my board and headed out into the water. I paddled out deep enough and looked at the girl. "Hi" I said softly to her.
