Looked at her board, then nodded. "Alright," Standing up, he brushed the sand from his hair, and offered her a hand. "want to go somewhere?"

"Sure." she said smiling and taking his hand.

helped her up. He thought for a moment. They could go to the park, or go see a movie. He looked at the water proof silver watch on his wrist. It was lunchtime, ish. "Would you like to go the the Cafe?"

She stood up beside him. "Sure. I'm getting kinda hungry anyway." She told him.

walked off the sandy beach, and slipped on his shoes, headed towards the cafe.

She followed him walking through the sand to herflip flops.

He looked at the girls, "I can come, but I need another towel....oh well, i can grab one at the beach." he says. "Oh, and Lae, if you want to get an ice cream soda at the beach I'm buying." he smirks, pretending to fall for the 11 year old.

Emory→ I smiled. Lae’s smile stretched wide across her face. “Cool!” she squealed. “Thanks!” then she abruptly turned to me. “See, I know how to pick ‘em don’t I?” I had to laugh.
“Yeah, whatever you say girly. Come on, let’s go change.” As we head up the porch, Lae calls to Jason:
“We’ll be right back! Don’t go anywhere? Okay?” I ruffle her hair.

Soon we’re outside again, Lae in her one piece and I in my bikini, a t-shirt is the only covering I have.
Lae grabs my hand and then Jason’s “C’mon slowpokes! Let’s get a move on!” she says, starting to drag us down the sidewalk toward the surf.
“Lae. Slow down!” I say as I scrape my toe of the asphalt. She doesn’t listen, pulls harder instead.
