Kevin adjusted his bag on his shoulder before looking around for his seat. He had glanced in Sam's direction, but it seemed like he was in a the middle of making a friend out of Logan Lerman, so he decided to not interrupt. After all, he knew that Sam needed to widen his social circle.
Once Kevin found his desk, he sat down in it and yawned a little while he took out his spiral notebook and a blue mechanical pencil.
Then, something totally surprising happened, and Kevin was
not mentally prepared.
Elaine Willson just sat down next to him. Not to mention, she even said '
Hey'
Kevin smiled, a little nervously, and couldn't help but to glance down and instantly regret what he had thrown on this morning when he had gotten back from the beach. His
outfit was plain, dull colored, and totally not what he usually wore.
What if she likes guys who wears bright clothing? Why didn't I wear shorts and blue v-neck or something, like usual? Oh, right, because I was being a pansy because it was cold earlier. Kevin frowned mentally at his thoughts, but couldn't help but smile broadly at Elaine. On top of her beauty, she had the kindest heart Kevin has ever seen. Whenever he joined a surfing competition to raise money for a charity event, nine times out of ten, this girl was responsible for it, or played a big part in it.
A little nervously, Kevin turned his phone over in his hand, and occupied his feet, but tapping it against the floor.
"I'm pretty good. Uhm, and you?" He said, slightly embarrassed and wondering why he always seemed to be super lame in front of Elaine. He gave her friendly smile, and tried, probably unsuccessfully, to text Sam inconspicuously.

I'm freaking out man. F-R-E-A-K-I-N-G OUT.-
He almost got a response immediately.
-
You're really stupid man. S-T-U-P-I-D. Just calm down, and continue being the overly-social freak you usually are,
-
Kevin did frown at that, and couldn't help to wonder where his anti-social, nerdy, dorky friend went these past few years.
