Josh White stood up looking around. it was time to head off for school, 5:40. Why so early? Well, because he has to walk to school and he lives far away. Looking around his small and ugly house he grabbed his book bag having no one to say goodbye to. His mother was out, working, not! He sighed thinking how this was his senior year and he still didn't have a nice car to look at. Josh closed his door jumping over the steps and looking away from his neighbors with the nice mustang he wished he could drive just once. Someday Josh, someday. He told himself his book bag leaning over only one shoulder. He took a deep breath heading down toward the side walk. it was so cold he could see his breath. Muttering to himself he walked to the curb and walked for ages his normal walk the whole time tilted as he walked on the up lifting part on the curb. One, Two, Three he started to count his footsteps and he sped up has pace counting quicker. 21, 22, 23. Now he was running counting quietly aloud. 82,84,86,88. Till suddenly BANG! josh whacked right into something. It before he even hit the ground he already felt embarrassed. He looked around to make sure no one saw that until he noticed there was no way he could get out of this on his own and have it never to be heard of. Josh had hit a girl while she was doing something. Taking out the trash starting the car? Whatever it was he hit her and they both were now on the ground staring back at each other. Josh didn't know what to say so all he said was. "Hi I am Josh" his eyes were wide and you could tell he was dazed.

Elaine walked into class and played wkth one of her curls and smiled. She sat next to Kevin and waved "Hey" she said nervously and took her textbook out of her bag and her notebook with a purple pen. She wrote her name on her paper and glanced at Kevin. he is so cute she thought and quickly looked away hoping he didn't notice her. She tried to focus on the homeless puppy charity event she had after school but she couldnt keep her mind off of kevin. Elaine smiled to herself thinking about when she had watched him surf this summer and how good he was. She didn't surf because she would have embarrassed herself and she had an endangered jellyfish charity she volunteered for but she watched him when she could. "So um how are you?" She asked and smiled softly
