Blackcloud saw Ni take off towards the river. He had overheard his father,Vicious, talking about the white man before and if this was who had come to their homeland then he did not think that Ni needed to be out there alone. He followed after her with out a sound. He watched from the treeline with a long knife in hand. He knew that it had been these people who had murdered his tribe and mother before vicious had taken him in. He had heard other members o the tribe talking about it when he was a child. How he had been from an enemy tribe and did not belong with them. It was why Vicious had trained him to fight and never left him alone with the tribe as a child. Still he watched after the tribe as if it were the one he was born to. To him this was his tribe and these were his people even if they did not feel the same. He stayed silent as he watched Ni to be sure she was safe.

Fritz sighed as he walked the edge of camp and started into the forest. He knew that the rest of his group was not the brave type. Some were but not many.

Ni watched the men a they moved eagerly about. They dressed strangely, they wore shiny head dresses. That was all Ni could focus on. She saw no harm in them...at first. Suddenly, one of the white men brought out a gun (but she didn't know that's what it was). The careless man fired at the forest, and something hit the tree behind Ni. She jumped and looked behind her. The bark of the tree was completely stripped and a large hole lay in it. She ran back for the village in fear. But as she was looking back, she ran into someone. She fell on the ground, looking up. "Blackcloud!" she whispered. "What are you doing here??" she questioned, suddenly wondering of he'd ask the same question.

Blackcloud pulled Ni to her feet and put his hand to him mouth telling her to be quiet as he listened. He did not hear anyone following from the other side of the river. He breathed a sigh of relief. "You should not be out here alone." He said as his eyes fell back to her. He put the knife back in the sheath and started back towards the village. He heard commotion coming from the village and wanted to know what was wrong.

(Welcome!)

Ni gently pulled out of Blackcloud's grip and began to follow him back to the village. She was a little crossed that he came after her, figuring she couldn't protect herself. But she knew he meant well, he was her friend.
The village was a buzz. One single man not like the rest was there, and the tribal leaders stood up tall to intimidate him. And they definatly looked it, but Ni knew they were secretly afraid. Ni was just plain fascinated. She tired to approach the man, wanting to talk, but Blackcloud stopped her.

Thomas looked around at all the tan, terrified faces. They weren't knew to him. He'd seen them everywhere he went. But this was his opportunity to change that. "Hello." he said to them. "What language is it that you speak?" he asked anybody who would answer. He didn't think they spoke English.

Chaska stood tall and walked out at his father's side. "What do you want here boy?!" He asked in a sharp distinct tone. He held a high level of authority. He was the chief's son after all. His dark brown eyes were cold to the unwelcome visitor. He knew that many of his people were scared. However he knew others were ready to fight and kill this man on sight.

Travis was sent out to patrol and see what he could find in the area. If there were any threats and where the game was.

Thomas looked at the boy, mildly offended by how rude the savage was being. He figured the man next to him was the chief. He cleared his throat. "People of the tribe," he started, actually unsure of how to adress them. "My name is Thomas, and I am here by means of peace only."
