Chu nodded. "Of cores. Your father will not trifle with me. Nor will anyone else in the tribe." She assured her. It was true. The only one that really stood their ground against her was Vicious and Chaska once in a while.

Ni smiled big. "Oh thank you, Chu! Thank you!" She said. Suddenly she heard her father's voice. "Niakkoma! Come here!" He called. The sound made Ni tremble, although it sounded kinder than it usually was. She glanced at Chu, sighed, then hopped down from the tree and walked towards his voice.

Chu turned in the direction of her father's voice and followed after her. She had a cold look to her eyes as they fell upon Ni's father. She had no respect or emotion towards those who struck children.

Ni looked behind her, knowing Chu was following her. She gestured for her to stay behind. "It's okay." She mouthed, walking toward him again. He talked softly to her this time...but it was a subject Ni was pretty edgy about. She ran away again in disbelief, past Chu. She ran to the edge of the forest and to the river. She breathed heavily, in shock of what her father told her.

Chu waited and watched as Ni ran past her. She all but growled at her father before turning and walking after Ni. However, as Chu walked a snake slithered down her back to the ground and started towards Ni's father with a hiss. A beautiful white serpent that sane people feared. This was Chu's personal companion. Chu let the snake be as she caught up with Ni. She watched her, still a few feet off leaning against a tree. She waited to see if Ni would come to tell her without her having to ask.

Ni kept her eyes on the river, not seeing Chu behind her. She fell on her knees and started to cry again. She put her head on the ground, raising her hands above her head. "Please, please...please don't make me do this!" She begged (praying to) the spirits. "I know I said I wanted this, but I don't! Please! Please don't make me-" She was cut off by her sobbing.

Chu again nearly growled. "He is trying to marry you off?" She asked, though it was not a question. Chu knew how his kind were. If he could not control her he would get rid of her.

Ni sat up and held her cries in suddenly. She didn't turn around to fave Chu. "Yes." She said with a more steady voice. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. He didn't even tell her to who she would get married, or at least she didn't listen for long enough.

Chu ground her teeth a bit. There were few men in the village near Ni's age and it irritated her highly that he would act so rashly. Chu looked at her as she walked closer and knelt beside her. "You do not have to go threw with it." She told her.

BlackCloud leaned against a tree at the edge of the village. He had mentioned to Ni's father earlier in the year that he would like to ask her hand when she was of age. He had never received and answer, only mockery. He had seen Ni run off several times and it took all that he could really do not to last out at her father, per his father's request.
