Carter stumbled to a stop as a girl ran in front of him. Apollo sniffed at her excitedly, his tail wagging rapidly. Carter took out his earbuds and ran his fingers through his thick brown hair. He gave her his signature charming smile. "Well hello." he said with a chuckle. He pulled Apollo's leash slightly to keep him from jumping on the girl.

Carter decided to take Apollo out for a walk. He threw on a pair of shorts and no shirt, for it was a hot day out. He put a leash on the golden retriever, who was prancing with excitement, and set out the front door. Carter decided he would jog for about half an hour, then make his way to the beach to cool off. It was a perfect day, why waste it sitting inside?

Sam stared out the window of her bedroom miserably, she stared at the guitar sitting in the corner. She grabbed the guitar and bounded down the steps to head outside. In her way stood her stepmother, who placed her hands on her dainty hips and gave Sam an icy glare. "Where do you think you're going Samantha?" she asked sharply, blocking Sam's way.
