Hale carried her back to his car and buckled her up in the passenger seat, but as he was about to get in the man grabbed him. Hale stumbled back a little and turned to face. "Stay away from her!" He snapped and pushed the man away. "You lay another finger on her and I'll arrest you!" He snapped climbing into the car and slamming the break, leaving tire marks on the driveway. "Cassie...are you alright?" He whispered looking over as he pulled over when they were far enough away.

The man was pushed back away and before he could bale drove off. Cassie was still sore and her throat Hurt. "yeah, I'm ok..." Cassie coughed while she said it. Her voice was gone too and so her voice cracked a lot too. Cassie wiped her bloody node on her long sleeves making sure he wouldn't see the cuts and bruises on her arms. She felt like crap. "sorry.... Sorry hale I... You didn't have to come and get me.... I know it's a long drive." Cassie finally got out she was still choking on her words and her voice cracked a lot. She truned her body towards Yale and she curled up.

Hale frowned and got out with her jogging around the car over to her. "Hey, don't apolagize. You didn't do anything wrong. I was worried about you and I'm glad I came. You need to go to the hospital Cassie. You need to make sure your ok and you need to deal with this. You shouldn't have to deal with this." Hale responded taking her into his chest and hugging her gently.

Cassie watched as hale came over to her. "hale I'm ok... I don't need a hospital." Cassie said. She stopped coughing but her throat still hurt and it still cracked. She smiled as best she could when hale took her into his arms. She wanted to hug back but couldn't. Her shoulders and arms hurt too much and her back was aching. She looked up into hales eyes. She was happy and wished she could stay in his arms.

Her father is a cop, so form this she had learned self defense and other skills that she may need to know. Her brothers got her in to sports. Some would call her a 'Tomboy' But shes not. Hale looked down and gently lifted her head to look at the bruises. "I'm sorry this happened to you..." He whispered frowning. "Come on you can come stay with me tonight. I don;t want you getting beat around anymore." He whispered and opened the car door for her again. "You can get cleaned up at my place as well."

Cassie smiled weakly again. She lifted her head up and kissed his cheek. "thank you." she whispered so her voice wouldn't crack. She got in the car and buckled in. She watched hale walk back to the side of the car. Cassie looked over to hale. She thought about how amazing he is. He had just came all the way over there just to get her. No one had ever cared for her like that. Let alone even cared.

Chance brushed her hair and pulled it into a loose braid then slipped on a hoody and grabbed her iPhone. She'd only made it five feet out the door when her brother appeared in the doorway.

"where are you going?" Soldier asked with a frown.

"To rob a bank." She snapped sarcastically and crossed her arms. "Not that it's any of your business."

He sighed heavily. "Chance,we've been over this before. I know you miss Mom and Dad but you need to understand that I'm responsible for you now,okay? I'm in charge and if you can't tell me where you are headed I guess I can't allow you to go."

"Fine! I'm going to the park. Don't follow me or bother me. I'll be home whenever." She hissed furiously then hurriedly got in her car and drove away.

Soldier leaned against the doorframe and rubbed his face wearily. "how am I supposed to tell her I'm going back over seas,Dad?" he whispered with a tired sigh then pushed off the doorframe and walked back inside.
