Jessica led her horse towards the Stewart letting him know she was ready. She mounted her horse, fixed up her hat then asked the mare for a walk towards start point run up. She started from out of sight and smiled as the man spoke. "he's finishing with a long gallop home! look at him go, ladies and gentle men a wonderful time of 13.8 seconds.. Next up we have.. Raining champion, put your hands together for.. Jessica.. Charlotte Rose people!" He called out and as soon as Charlotte was spoken, she kicked her mare into a flat out gallop, aiming for the flags turning right imediatly clearing the first barrel "She goes round the first barrel.. and the second, you better cross young fingers Josh, she's close to your time" He smiled, Oscar continued his gallop around the third barrel and a flat out gallop towards the flags and kept going around the whole arena. "Ladies and gentlemen! a time of... 13.3 seconds! that places her in first place! ladies and gentlemen, that concludes our Barrel racing competion, now moving on to the roping." He spoke.
Jessica slowed Oscar to a steady canter heading out the gate and then then halting her horse by her friend whom went to collect the trophy. She smiled softly and kissed her horses nose "Good job buddy!" She smiled softly kissing him before leading him, un-tacking him and giving him a quick sponge down. She placed a thin summer rug on then walked him out towards her ute, and 4 horse float. She loaded Oscar up into the float looking back to the rodeo sighing softly, she was going to miss this place. You betcha, she was moving, to this new place. Sighing she smiled and let Latriel into the front seat, thanking her friend and saying her goodbyes she loaded Oscar onto the float and then walked around to the car placing her trophy in the back and her $500 in her purse to transfer into her bank later. Huffing she started the car and drove off to this new town.
About 4 hours later she arrived at this sleepy town, well it looked sleepy. But it was her kind of town, there were Ranchers everywhere, cowboys girls, everywhere, all riding there horses and driving their trucks. She smiled and pulled up into the Ranch her parents owned, it was now hers, it was always hers, they sold it to her more so they gave it to her. It was a stud ranch, and in order to live her she had to keep up the stud, and she would. The fences were wonderfully made, white picket fences, her dad had workers which had very good pay and did so much more than some other worker who only got a small pay, everyday they were out checking the horses, the fencing, cleaning the stalls the paddocks from dangerous branches, everything was taken care of, there was a cook, a maid, but they enjoyed the job, because at the end of every day there was a big meal for everyone. She pulled up at the ranch house and smiled softly "I guess this is home hey girl?" She smirked looking to Latriel and turning the engine off. She opened the car door letting Latriel explore she made her way towards the float where she unloaded her stallion and led him towards the paddock with a few mares, his dad always wanted him to cover a few mares, so why not, the mares were all quarter horses, in fact this ranch was were most people got their quarter horses. She didn't like the idea of people coming and every weekend to look at horses but that was part of the business. She broke in horses and sold them, breaking them in much better than what other horse breakers would, i guess you could call her a horse whisperer. She didn't break horses, she got them to learn it wasn't scary, that the saddle was something good, that it was nice to be ridden, it may take about a month but it was kinder, the results, perfect horses, competing within 8 months of being broken into the saddle.
She smiled as Ryan and Mark, her brothers came and helped her unpack, they were also owners, yes she had brothers, the age of 17 and 18, yep, as pesky as anything, but who cares, she loved them. She followed them into her room and then smiled shooing them out not needing help unpacking.
