Katie shook her head with a sigh, her braid flinging around a bit as she did so. "No.... There's a story behind why I don't trust people very well," she said quietly.

Jake frowned and put his hand on her shoulder. "Well in that case, I promise I won't hurt you any further.."
((Hehe, I made him promise on purpose! X3))

Katie visibly tensed up at the word 'promise.' She didn't know what to do or say, because her broken hearts always started with a promise. After what felt like forever she sighed and said in a quiet, unsure voice, "O-Okay..."

Jake frowned, feeling uneasy. "D- did I do something to upset you?" He asked in a quiet voice and a frown, looking down and fighting tears. He did not want to have the chance to have a friend slip away from him so easily by a mistake he made so foolishly, so he made sure that it wasn't something he did..

Katie stood there, unsure of what to say. She grabbed onto the hand that was on her shoulder and looked at Jake. "Come back to my place, and I'll explain there... Okay?" the brunette said.

Jake nodded with a frown still, hoping he didn't upset her in the slightest bit/

Katie sighed and took Jake's hand off her shoulder, but didn't let go of it. "Alright. Follow me, then," she said quietly. The brunette started walking back towards her house. It was on the outskirts of town, where there were a lot less people. And it was a very nice neighborhood.

Jake smiled slightly. Apparently he was making great process because she was holding his hand. The more he thought about it the bigger he smiled.

After a few minutes, Katie and Jake arrived at her house. Considering she was only nineteen and she was on her own now, it was a rather large and expensive, nice looking house. Getting out her keys, she fumbled around with the lock on the door for a moment until finally it was unlocked. Opening the door, she walked inside, still holding Jake's hand.

Jake was spaced out, smiling as his mind was fluttery with thoughts.
