I walked into the kitchen, surprisingly not even bothering to answer Luna. What she'd said was just plain stupid, anyways. So what if she could see better than me, big deal. "Thanks, Fabio," I said, letting one of my other ridiculous nicknames for the boy slip without even noticing. Sure, it could've been taken as offensive, or just as a light joke. There was no secret that he wasn't from America, anyways. I picked up the steaming hot bowl of macaroni, blowing on it carefully as I leaned up against one of the counters, staring blankly out the window. I had no idea what the next day was going to bring, but I hoped that we could get to a safer place soon. "I was thinking about dropping Sacramento," I said quietly, my expressionless gaze turning over to the boy. I knew that he knew he was top dog, and I wasn't going to make him back down from it, either. But Sacramento didn't seem like a good place. I hated having 3 extra people than what I'd started with tagging along, and just the thought of going into the state's capital made me feel angered.
