Kassidy noticed yet another cluster of customers shuffle into the cafe, each rushing to claim their tables before the others. One young man in particular caught her eye as he slid into a seat by the window. She had seen him quite a few times over the past weeks. She stepped up from behind the counter once more, tightening her apron tie before making her way through the crowd. Fixing her name pin, she walked over to the man, apron swaying around her slender legs as she beamed down at guy. Rather cute. "Hello, my name is Kassidy and I'll be serving you today," she smiled the same teeth revealing grin as before, and placed her fingers against his table, drumming slowly as she continued. "Do you know what you will be ordering today, or do you need some more time to think about it?" the blonde questioned, a thin smile stretching across her lips as she looked the guy up and down.

His scruffy brown hair and the stubble adorning his chin caused a slight flutter inside Kassidy's chest as she did her best to keep the smile present on her face. Rubbing her wrists nervously, she fumbled with the note pad in her pocket and pulled it out, pen clipped to her breast pocket. "Ah, our special today is the raspberry mocha. 25% off the original price," she explained brightly, heels rubbing into the ground in a flustered manner. Glancing at the clock, she realized her ten minute break would be starting in five minutes. She could a grab a coffee during the ten minutes for herself and relax.

Cody raised his eyes up to the young woman that stood before him, adorned in an apron. She looked like someone you would normally find in a coffee shop, light blonde hair and a sunny smile. However, something seemed different about her, and what it was he couldn't put his finger on it. He blinked once she spoke, realizing with slight embarrassment that he'd been slightly staring at her. Kassidy. Cute name, it fits. "Hello Kassidy." Cody replied in kind, flashing a small smile at her as she continued on.

While she spoke, Cody took a bit more time to glance her over, not in a roving way but politely. "Hmm, the raspberry mocha sounds great, thanks." With slight amusement, he noticed a few nervous habits but kept them to himself.

Kassidy watched as his eyes flickered across her face, a distracted look present in his orbs. She shuddered slightly as her name left the man's lift, a rather husky noise as he greeted her. She managed a little wave as she found herself gazing longingly at his charming white smile. Closing her eyes for a moment, she steadied herself as the younger lad ordered. He agreed to the raspberry mocha as his eyes wandered down her figure. Nibbling her lip lightly, she nodded. She placed her notepad on the table as she fished through her cluttered pockets for a pen, realizing it was still pinned to her chest pocket. Picking it up, she bent over to scribble the order down before dropping the pen onto the table. "Coming right up," the waitress responded, struggling to keep her voice from rising a pitch or two.

Stumbling backwards, she fell into a daze as she made her way back to Tim, simply walking through the crowd despite their protests. The girl found herself desperately wanting to know her customer's name, sit down and enjoy her own raspberry mocha alongside him. He looks like a. . . Justin? She nearly walked right into the counter before she caught herself with a start, finding herself standing next to Tim. "Uh," she murmured, not sure what exactly she was doing. The scent of coffee brought her back as she fumbled for her notepad, realizing she had left it over with the man. Coughing lightly, Kassidy recalled the order with ease. "One raspberry mocha," she mumbled. "Extra whipped cream for an extra special customer," the words slipped out from between her pursed lips before she could stop them. Tim simply raised an eyebrow as he brewed the drink and moments later, the blonde was nudging her way back over to her customer. "Here's your coffee," she managed to say.

The more the blonde waitress spoke in a slightly flustered manner, the more Cody though she was just beyond adorable, a small smile lifting his lips as he struggled to tear his gaze away from her form as she wove her way through the crowd. I wonder if she gets a break soon... He mused to himself, watching with slight amusement as she seemed to start as she fumbled around for her notepad. His greenish orbs flicked down near his hand where a worn, yet simple notepad lay next to it. Clearly written on the front was his order in most likely the nicest handwriting he's ever seen.

Picking it up, he glanced over it for a moment, wondering to himself how long she's worked here for. "Here's your coffee." The simple statement snapped him back to her face, the tips of his ears burning slightly as he realized he was still holding her notepad. "Um...wanna trade?" Cody offered, a small chuckle rising up this throat and slipping through his lips. The small notepad was extended towards the blonde. Kassidy. He corrected himself, liking the sound and feel of her name.

"Hm, I'm not sure if this is a fair trade," Kassidy giggled teasingly, dangling the cup in the air. Pretending to look it over, she rubbed her chin before placing it beside him daintily. "Ah, why not. I'll take it," she shrugged, reaching out to take the notepad, fingertips grazing his larger ones. Blushing, she bit back the urge to apologize several times and plucked her writing utensil off the table, along with the slips of paper she took the orders on. A light pink dusted her cheeks as she leaned in next to the handsome man. "Well, my break is coming up. Why don't you explain why this trade was unfair," she grinned, untying her apron. Tossing it over the chair across from her customer, she blinked. "I like to get to know my customers while I'm on break. I have my chilled coffee waiting for me in the fridge, so I'll be right back," the blue-eyed waitress laughed, flicking the man's nose to make her way to the back room.

As she teased him, Cody's small smile turned into a grin as she seemed to refuse his offer for a trade. He was about to play along and pretend to beg before she placed his cup next to his arm in an almost dainty manner. The moment her fingers brushed his, his lips quirked slightly at the small blush that adorned her cheeks. He was almost expecting her to walk away, but it took him by surprise as she leaned towards him. Cody's arm fell back to his side as his ears turned a slight shade of red as her fingers worked on her apron tie.

As she finished talking, Cody knew he should reply but he instead seemed like he wasn't able to make a single coherent word the way his throat was restricted. Instead, he offered a weak nod and an unsteady smile. As she walked away, Cody blinked and wondered when his ears were going to turn back to normal again. Certainly not with the charming waitress sitting across from him. "Oh boy..."

The moment the waitress stepped foot into the staff room, she dashed over to the coat hangers and sunk down to the ground. "What am I doing? I shouldn't be flirting with my customers and taking up their time with my break," she nearly wailed, before remembering the walls weren't exactly sound proof. Lowering her speech to a mere whisper she sunk her face into her hands before catching her breath. She couldn't exactly leave him waiting until her shift was over either. Rising weakly to her feet, Kassidy stumbled over to the fridge and pulled out her chilled frappuccino. One sip brought instant relief to her burning throat. She glanced at the clock. Seven minutes left of her break. With a deep breath, the blonde pushed through the door, walking slowly back over to the customer.

She stood from a distance, not wanting to move any closer before swallowing and placing her drink down at her seat. Dropping down onto the cushioned chair, she managed a wobbly smile as she turned her knees in to face him. "Hm, you know my name now, so it's only fair if I know your name, right?" Kassidy began, somewhat curious to what this man's name was. He did seem like a Timothy, or many an Anthony?

While he waited, Cody returned to his laptop that was facing him, once again typing away as he had done before. Glancing at the time down at the corner of his screen, he sighed slightly. What was he doing, partially flirting with a waitress. For all he knew, she could be dating some great guy. Someone who was built and sporty, came from a nice family and had a small fortune waiting for him. Blinking to himself, Cody let his head fall down onto the table with a muffled groan. Great. With my luck that's probably the case.

Cody glanced upwards from his place on the table, eyes locking on Kassidy as she sat in the booth and turned her knees towards him. "Oh, right. I'm Codiah, but Cody is fine." He said, smiling lightly before taking a sip of his drink. "So Kassidy," her name fell off his lips as he tilted his head slightly to the side, "how long have you worked here?" Good. Start with small talk.
