"Hello. As most people in America know me, my name is Valentyn Fate Simoe. However, I was born as Valentyn Fate Simonov and had it legally changed back to its Russian pronunciation a few years ago. No, not like the holiday. I get it mispronounced so much because of it being a Russian name that it's not even funny anymore. If it's too hard for you, just call me V. I was born a female, I'm pretty sure. Although they might be small, but I still have the feminine objects that can make me top-heavy. What? I'm talking about multiple necklaces, I don't think boys accessorize that much. I was born on the 12th day of February in the year of 1994. That's pretty much the only reasoning for my name. I was born 2 days before the date of the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre, or modern day Valentine's Day. If you do your math correctly you would know that I am nineteen now."

"So we are talking about looks now, right? Distinctive to be correct. I guess I would say my hair? I mean, I keep it pretty healthy even though I use to dye it way too much. Nowadays I just keep it at this safe black and purple. At times, I am getting tired of the purple, yet I keep it in because it allows people to recognize me easier. People often ask what my natural color is and it's actually just a dull brown. To be exact, it's a dull brown just like Albert's. For the hell of it, I will say my eyes as well. I find them to be a beautiful shade of blue. My eyesight is horrible, but I that can be fixed with glasses or contacts. Oh how I love to get the ones that make me look as if I am a Night Elf. Yes, I am a bit self-absorbed when it comes to body image. I'm roughly five foot seven inches high, the average for most women. The only thing I find wrong with myself is my teeth, and that is only because I never got them corrected and don't wish to.

"I do have multiple tattoos. I know that seems a bit odd for my social stature of a nerd, but I'm not a the typical nerd you see in your math class. Anyway, the tattoos I have are a skull on my lower left forearm, the words "Soar Above Your Audience" on my shoulder near my neck, a diamond on my neck, and a Mortal Kombat dragon on the upper part of my right arm. But that is not all, I also have a Legend of Zelda scene on my left arm; setting up a sleeve, and finally an unfinished peacock feather on my upper right thigh. As for the needles that have been put into my skin... I haven't had many. All I really keep in are my spider bites and my ears are only one hole on both sides stretched to a 7/8. Pretty simple, amiright?"

"I like to think of myself as a head-strong Russian girl who isn't afraid to speak what’s on her mind; whether that be important or just plain random. Sweet but tough as my mother use to always say. I do suffer from depression, but it's something I am slowly losing over the years. Which is actually what needs to happen, not just finding ways to deal. Because of my clinical depression, I like to be protective of the ones I love. I do not want them to be harmed like I was from many things. However, it is rough for me to do somethings since social anxiety has made me quite the timid and shy one of my friend groups. Strangers are one of my biggest issues. If someone I don't know comes towards me, I will automatically sense danger. It is kind of an odd thing though seeing all the parties I go to. Unlike most girls I know, I don't prefer horseback riding, I find it just as dangerous as I find strangers. I get aggressive at times. If people try to harm me, you will not hear an apology for any harm that is done. Hence why I often spend my days in front of a screen kicking the butt of my friends at any game we play.

"Despite my issues on the social spectrum, I have found my ways to make friends through video games and the internet. A year after moving in with my brother and Auntie, I began to make gameplay and commentary videos like the ones I saw on YouTube. I posted them on a channel with the name of FightingFate. Looking back, that's probably the worst name ever for an LPer, but my audience likes it. I still find it amazing how so many people can connect with me simply by watching me play Legend of Zelda and hearing my accented voice. As my popularity grew, I began to get a feeling that I wasn't use to: joy. It was a feeling of joy that I had never achieved before, not even through drugs. As my audience grew, so did I as a person. I became more outspoken on my ideas about things and at times, felt like my personality contained little bits of the characters I played."

"Valentyn Fate Simonov. That's what it reads on my birth certificate. Under that are the names of my parents: Russian natives, Andrew Lee Simonov and Valeria Lynn Sterling. My parents wanted her to have a very unique name, so that's what they gave me. As I said before, I was born around Valentine's Day, but it has nothing to do with my name. They actually pronounce my first name Val-n-teen, instead of the common pronunciation of Valentine. They gave me the middle name of Fate, because, well who the hell knows. My grandmother always says its because they knew she would come to great things. Sadly, they were wrong. Luckily, they never got the chance to see all I've done in my horrid life.

"My family was together for 13 years of my life. When my parents died in a house fire, I had no other family besides my twin brother, Albert. We are fraternal not identical, so quit asking. Since we had no other family, we were orphaned and forced to live with a foster family. However, somehow my brother never made it to the same place I was. I didn't question it at the time.
Now don't get me wrong, the parent's were wonderful, but they did nothing. I got bullied by the other foster children for what they had heard. Before I knew it, little ol' me was picked out of the main crowd and dropped into a crowd filled with drugs. The only way I had learned to get rid of the ridicule was with through violence and anything illegal I could get my under-aged hands on. I constantly was harming others; this often led to solitary confinement, which in that household meant just sitting in your room on days on end. This is when I picked up on all the video games.
One of the little boys never locked up his old Nintendo 64 like he was suppose to when I was locked in the room, so I would just get it out an play. It was pretty swell if you ask me. That boy had so many games: Yoshi's Story, Mortal Kombat 4, Paper Mario, Pokemon Snap, Super Smash Bros., Donkey Kong 64. So many game titles, but only one stuck out to me the most. Only one remained my favorite, even to this day. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Sure, there are loads of other Zelda titles, but that is the one game that always had me coming back.
I stayed there for awhile there for long hours even after I was told I could come out. I didn't care, I just wanted to game. To actually get me out of the dark attic room, they would tell me to go on a walk. One day I did it... and boy did it change things.
I found my Aunt's house in the newspaper with some story about how it was considered a national landmark in America. The house my brother had been staying at for so many years without contact to me. After a long awkward conversations, harsh arguments, and many months of planning over the phone and internet; Albert finally convinced my Aunt to adopt me in so I could get out of the foster home.
I was 15 when that happened. Since then, I have moved to America with my twin brother, our Auntie, and the Nintendo 64 I stole from the foster home. Sadly, our surnames were Americanized from Simonov to Simoe. Unlike my brother, I wished to change my name back to its original spelling and pronunciation. By the age of seventeen, I had spent the money I saved for tattoos in order to fill out the legal forms of name changes. As I have mentioned before, a year after moving in with my Auntie, I started making gameplay videos. In the beginning of my gameplay career, it was merely on the console of Nintendo 64 since that was the only thing I could afford. I bought a Gamecube on Craigslist and an used PS3 from one of the neighborhood kids not long after moving out. Nowadays, I'm nineteen and trying my best to live a normal life. I've gotten a little apartment not far from the tattoo parlor I work at every now and then when I'm not making videos for YouTube. And I even try to spend time with Albert whenever I get the chance. I've also taken up guitar, which my father had tried to get me to do before his untimely passing. I'd say I'm pretty good at it."
