He shook his head, laughing. "Nothing." the waiter brought the food and he took a bite.

Eli grinned at her remark, and suddenly realized something. "Hey, I don't know your name yet. My name's Eli by the way," he said with a smile. He finished up his fries and started on the other half of his burger.

"Okay" Melanie took a bite of her food and thought. The last time someone had watched her, they ended up dating for a few monthes. She looked at him, wondering if he liked her.

He couldn't help thinking about his sister. Where she was, was she even alive? She would have been 7 in a few days. He realized he must have been super quiet and cleared his throat. "Hows the food?"

Melanie looked at him. "It's good. Just as good as you told me it would be."

Alex finished her fries and leaned back in her seat as she took a sip of her coke. "Alex." she replied simply, offering the best smile she could but it was quite obviously forced. Her phone started to ring, and she instantly pulled it out of her pocket. "Crap." she mumbled when she saw the number that flashed on the screen.

Carter smiled and looked around. "Yep. I used to work here, and they make sure the food is good. They don't just drop it in some stuff and fry it up." He took a drink of his water.

"That's good. " Melanie said. "You said you used to work here. I'm curious about why you quit."

He shrugged. "I just got busy and had to quit." He didn't mention he quit to look for his sister. "Ill probably ask for the job again when I find out-" He didnt finish, just forced a smile.

Melanie noticed he didn't continue. "Find out what?" She asked him curiously. "If you don't want to talk about it that's perfectly fine."
