personality:

fletch is the sort of kid that everyone knows. he's confident and popular, but not overly cocky. that may make him appear perfect, but he's far from it.
fletcher may act friends with everyone, but there's one missing element in each friendship - trust. yes, that's right - fletcher is pistanthrophobic, which basically means he's.. scared of trusting people, so per se. he basically can't trust people because of this one girl - chloe. he never tells anybody that he can't trust anyone, clearly, because then he'd fall from the top of the social ladder to the bottom, even if he told one person - they'd obviously tell everybody. well, that's what fletcher thinks.
fletch is rather dishonest, because he can't tell anybody the truth. honestly, he's quite sweet at heart, and cares about the whole school (apart from chloe and brent) - not just his 'popular' friends.
he's generally a friendly person, despite his trust issues. he adores music - any genre apart from screamo. he finds it hurts his ears when they.. well, scream. that's his opinion, and he accepts that other's differentiate from that.

history:

well, fletcher was born in woolacombe, in england. at the age of two, his family went back to their roots - letterkenny, in ireland. that means he has "an english/irish accent", but he doesn't see himself as having an accent - more like anyone not from england having an accent. you want something interesting, hm? well... how about year ten? this year was when, essentially, fletcher became "who is today".
it was his first year in the states at school, and fletch was wondering around his new school like your average boy. long story short, chloe was one of the preppy cheerleader people and found fletch cute. then, after they'd been dating for a while, and fletcher was moderately popular, chloe just decided that brent, a guy on the sports team, was 'cuter' and then seduced him. this triggered his lack of trust: chloe had always told him that she loved him for who he was, not what he looked like, and that she would never leave him for anyone because she found them attractive - fletch quickly heard the gossip spread around the school, with chloe telling everybody that brent was so much cuter and that was the only reason she was dating him. that's generally the only bad thing that's happened in fletcher's life, and that may be the reason he remembers it the most, and why it has the largest and most permanent effect on his life - this is also the reason why he refuses to date girls as he was always bisexual, and fletch has started to like being a homoromantic...
