Name
"My name is Luca Austin Warner. I was named after my great grandfather, Austin, who was championed as one of the best lawyers in our county. I am proud to bear the Warner family name."
Age
"I am 17 years old, my birthday being in mid-January. I am a senior in high school with my sights set on college."
Rank
"I am a total athlete. I swim four hours a day, five hours in the summer. I'm the captain of the swim team as well as president of Key Club and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. I also work at the pool as a coach of the club kids and teaching younger children how to swim. I literally live at the pool and take my swimming very seriously."
Family
"My mother is a family physician, so I have some associative extensive medical knowledge. My father has followed in the footsteps of my grandfather and great grandfather as a corporate attorney. He is always pressuring me to major in business management and to go to law school. This often leads to disagreements, which inhibits our relationship. I have a younger sister, Emily, who is just starting junior high school. My parents are divorced, so my sister lives with my mother about 40 miles away from us. My sister and I are very close and keep in touch through phone and email. I also have a dog named Mange. He is a black lab, golden retriever mix."
Closest Friends
"I have made many friends in my lifetime, especially among the swimming community, but I haven't found a single companion to call my closest friend."
Crush
"I'm not really sure how I feel yet, but I feel very at ease with Allie."
Relationship
"I am bound by no responsibilities affiliated with love."
Personality
"What can I say? I am fiercely loyal to my friends. I tend to be a little overprotective, however, which has sometimes led to my being quick to anger when confronting a situation involving the possible threat to my friends' safety. However, most of the time I am a happy-go-lucky soul who loves to laugh. I believe that humor is the best escape from reality. I feel that it is my duty to make others smile. I try to be very polite and respectful to everyone I meet, especially those who are my senior. Some people tend to think that I play hard to get, but that is not it at all. I don't really understand my own feelings and I'm better at casual friendships than serious relationships. I can be intimate and share a close bond with someone, but I am not as skilled at taking things to the next step. I can love a girl and she might never know it. Sometimes, I can be awfully quiet. I don't mean to be, it's just part of my writer's intuition. Because of this, I'm incredibly observant and sometimes this leads to small periods of thought for me. I love company just as much as the next guy, but sometimes when I feel sentimental, I prefer to be alone with my thoughts until they're sorted out. This is the part of writing that clarifies me. I don't share the same interests in business or law like my father. I have a passion for writing and I'm really good at it. I find that words come really easy to me and this skill goes hand-in-hand with my swimming. I prefer creative writing, but I'm also editor-in-chief of the school newspaper and am also very interested in the Associated Press. I would much rather pursue a career in media than law or business. I have a wonderful way with children, probably because I am still a kid at heart, but I also love to chat with the elders. I am extremely athletic, because my training means almost everything to me. I love the feeling of being in shape and challenging myself, even if that means training alone. However, sometimes my commitment and devotion to training leaves me blind to my own health or condition and I am not the best at communicating when I am injured or sick. Like any other student athlete, I have ambitions, but I try to keep my team's best interests at heart and put them above everything else, including myself. But I do want to be the very best swimmer that I can possibly be. I would protect and defend my team, against all personal cost, including my life. I don't want my coach to be afraid of pushing me. I want the challenge. I welcome it. I want to push past my limitations, test my willpower, exceed my expectations and potential. You can see that I have given this a lot of thought. But I don't want to be like any other student athlete. I want to quench my personal thirst to succeed. I want to train. Hard. Harder than any other athlete. I crave the challenge and I'm willing to work harder than anybody else. This is what makes me who I am. These are the laws and commandments that I live by."
History
"Unlike some of my peers, my childhood was not too difficult. Sure, it was hard to manage my parent's divorce when I was only seven, but I didn't let it define me. However, I do regret the lack of closeness that I used to share with my father. It started when I entered junior high and my father pressed me to start studying for my SAT's and plan out my path to law school. I was only eleven. It was too much too early. We began to disagree. He and I hung out less and less. I was starting to feel lonely, until my mother helped put me back on track. She bought me a puppy, Mange, who would be partner in crime. She signed me up for the swim team and sucked me into the powerful gravitational pull that was the sport of swimming. My father always saw swimming as nothing more than a tool to my path to success, but I saw swimming as my passion, my ambition. When I'm tired or stressed or angry about something, swimming would always temper my spirit. Swimming truly is my clarity and that is what I have let define me."

He has broad, sloping shoulders and skin that has been touched relentlessly by the sun, day by day. He possesses brilliantly bright eyes that reflect sunlight, sometimes giving them a dazzling quality. Unlike most athletes, Luca is not overly muscular. He has a long, lanky torso and harbors a strength that is not always visible on his exterior. He is more toned with smoother transitions to his muscles than jocks with huge limbs and frighteningly cut bodies.
