A stray is a person or animal that is found wandering around without a home or someone that provides them love, an owner. Once these strays are found they are put into a safe place until they can be put into a more secure, permanent home where they can receive love and care. These homes treat the strays as they should have been treated their whole lives.
You are the stray.
Something happened to you..or your parents. Something to make you homeless. Something that made you have to carry on without love of your family. You could have been forgotten, thrown out, ran away. Your parents may have done something. Since you were abandoned, unloved; you had to fend for yourself for some time. That is, until you were found. The person or people who found you most likely reported you to social services, where they could find you a home. And that's how you got here. You were fostered. Whether you enjoy your time here and accept where you are or stay bitter and distance yourself is up to you. The choice is yours but it may lead to the decision of you being adopted or not.

Basically, this roleplay is about foster kids and those around them, and getting accepted into foster homes. It's how they live and function with their new family and how the hope they can be adopted to become a real family one day. It all takes place in the beautiful city of Los Angeles, California. The foster children have all been brought in recently since Dean and Alyssa Myers decided to take in some foster teenagers. The Myers do have a teenager daughter who at first was not onboard to take in the new kids but has warmed up recently. To the lucky fosters, this is their first home. To the others, this may be just another home of the week. Either way, they're here now. Make the most of it.

There's a few places to go here in town. Of course, all the fosters are first welcomed to the gorgeous home of the Myers'. Each foster has their own bedroom which they are free to show their expressions through decorating it. They have already been enrolled in the local high school where the fosters are expected to partake in after school activities and sports in an effort to fit in and make new friends. The Myers live close to a beach where a lot of teenagers enjoy hanging out. The teens of the area also like to visit the new modern coffee shop. {{I'll probably add more later.}}

⊱ We all know the first obvious rule, follow all of tess's rules. It's simple. If you don't know them, they are at the top of the forums page.
⊱ This is a high semi-literate to literate roleplay. I expect about two paragraphs per post, per character. Each paragraph should be of decent size like seven to ten sentences. I understand the occasional writer's block but I won't accept it as a constant excuse. If you can't go along with the literacy level, then please don't join. I'd also like everyone to post at least once or twice a week. I'd like to keep this alive so if we can follow that, I think it can live.
⊱ Chickensmoothie is a child friendly website; meaning no mature themes. So please, if it's inappropriate, please just don't take it that far. Fade to black; do something. This site doesn't accept cursing either. So star out vowels if you truly feel the need to cuss.
⊱ Keep it realistic. No super powers or fairy tale stuff. There's a different forum for that. Also, in real life it takes time for people to fall in love so don't have your characters love each other immediately. Give 'em some time to work things out. No perfect characters. That's no fun for anyone and everyone has flaws so keep it that way.
⊱ I won't limit anyone to characters but I will say to keep it to the number you can handle. Also I'd like to keep genders even so if you're going to make more than one character, make one a boy. I don't want to need to make everyone make a guy and a girl because we can't keep genders even. You cannot play more than one foster child but you may have more than one student. Please keep characters heterosexual and normal looking. I have nothing against people of different orientations or different styles but I'm uncomfortable with playing with those types of characters. Reservations on characters will be held for two days only. After that, I will open your spot back up.
⊱ I will not be supplying a form for you which means you need to make one for yourself. Make it detailed and pretty. Also if you're playing a foster character, I need you to include the reason he or she was fostered. Your character doesn't need to express the reason but I'd like it if everyone knew.

⇢ name "hey I'm Logan." Logan Elia Tanner. We're not quite sure why Logan got her name since she never had anyone to tell her or tell us. We do know that Tanner comes from her mother's last name. Christy Tanner was Logan's mother before she was given up.
⇢ nickname "I go by Logan basically all the time. I've never been close enough to anyone to get a real nickname." Unless you're calling her by new girl or her name, Logan won't respond to you. She has never had a nickname, partly because her name doesn't shorten to anything worth a nickname and also because she's never had anyone close to her to nickname anything. Logan's gotten rather used to responding to terms like 'New Girl' or 'Newbie'.
⇢ age "I'm seventeen." Logan was born on August 1st but we're not exactly sure where.
⇢ appearance "Blonde hair, blue eyes." Although Logan can't see it, she is a very beautiful girl with her glowing skin and brightening eyes. Her gold locks of her extend passed her shoulders to reach about the middle of her back. She is very slim with slight muscle and a decent height of approximately five foot, nine. Logan has both of her ears pierced and has gotten a more recent piercing of her cartilage. Her clothing style is moderate considering she can't travel heavily when shipped around. Most clothes that she obtains at each house stay there and she carries her favorite items.
⇢ personality "quiet, funny, down to earth, untrusting" What we know of Logan is what she tells us and what we observe. She is very quiet and seems to have a hard time opening up to people. She does have a sense of humor but it seems to be more on the dry side. We have concluded that she enjoys being by herself. She was at one point caring and outgoing but has lost those sparks through the years of being moved around from home to home. She is accepting of her current lifestyle and has never been seen upset by her situation or pitying of herself. She is responsible and respects other. She knows that she is in charge of her actions and has never had a problem with discipline. We have been told she has a bit of a wild side to her as we've learned that she likes to do daring things like cliff jump or skydive. We assume the adrenaline helps take away her stress. This probably means that Logan understands that life is short and you shouldn't take any time for granted. She has proven to be very truthful when asked. She holds back things about herself but has never lied to anyone at the agency. Logan seems to be a sweet girl but has many insecurities and issues especially pertaining to her past and her life.
⇢ likes "I like being alone, photography, music, sunglasses and movies." Logan does in fact like being on her own. She doesn't open up well or make friends easily because of her shy persona. She uses music and photography to get away from the craziness and express herself. Logan has taken quite a liking to films also. She will attend the theater as much as possible. She is caught quite frequently wearing a pair of sunglasses. She told us that the thing she enjoys most is buying a new pair of sunglasses whenever she lives with a new family. She currently owns fourteen pairs of sunglasses.
⇢ dislikes "loud noises, people" Like we said, she enjoys being by herself. She's a quiet girl who enjoys her own company.
⇢ history "I rather not." From what we know, Logan was born in an apartment building to her mother, Christy with no known father. Logan's mother was a drug addict and became pregnant but was unsure of the father of her child. She refused to seek help throughout her pregnancy even up to the birth as to not alarm doctors of her drug use. So yes, Logan was a "crack baby." Her mother kept Logan for the first five or six years of her life but not in very well conditions. Usually on the street, Logan grew up in poverty and disturbing images that many of us cannot imagine for a child. By the time, she was five or six years old, times got worse for her mother. On a very cold, winter night, Logan was found passed out in an alley. She was rushed to the hospital where she was found dehydrated. The child fought the doctors, kicking and screaming; calling for her mother. When she was restored to health, Logan was asked where they could find her mother, Logan directed them back to an apartment in a very shady area of a city and led them to the room her mother was staying in, when police pounded in the door, they found Logan's mother dead on a couch from a drug overdose to cocaine. Logan was immediately taken to social services where they could not find any family to house the child. She was put into a group home for five years before they eventually put her into foster care. Logan has never found a permanent home and has been moved around to fourteen different homes since she was eleven.

● I was born in New York City and lived with just my father and mother. I was a single child almost had a little brother when I was ten but my mother miscarried and now watched over me obsessively hoping I don't leave her too. My father always wanted me to do sports and what not but I preferred trick and magic. Nothing big just little gimmicks. I would show them my tricks with spoons, cards, and even quarters but they would just nod and then dad would talk about ports. My whole life he made me do almost every sport mostly football and baseball. I hated it and explained to my father that I hated it and hated him for making me do it. Picking my career and telling me what to do during my "free time" as he called it. Currently at that time my father had bought me a car and even let me stay downstairs. We started to save up for college and got me a room on campus. It was a lot but my mouth slipped and I explained how he never did anything for me. He got mad and kicked me out. Threw me down the stairs and I turned for my mothers help but she just watched. She wasn't even crying. I lived my mother and thought that she cared. I called for her now being pushed out of the house into the yard and she then started to cry at my yell. But she did not move just watched. Let me go. I was ruined and left like he said. Soon I was living on the streets and I don't remember much of that for my mind was too focused on the past. Then out of nowhere, I have a new home.... the Myers.

● I am currently at the Myers home. I just moved in and saw my room that I think is not that bad. I am a little quiet and nervous but I try to be nice and friendly. They seem cool so I tend to just put it off to the side. I mostly stay in my room and don't go out much because I feel rude for leaving the house. i do really well in school but I do not sleep well. I am foster child one and hope I can fit in nicely. I too often think about weather I am doing the right thing or not. I don't want to be another bad kid.
