Spencer heard his phone vibrate and picked it up in his hand. "What no!?" He muttered aloud as he read the text. No I'm not breaking up with you!? Why would you even think that!? Eleanor looked at her phone and started to text back, "Im down at the south Beach and when boys say they need to talk its normally there breaking up with you" she sent the text and waited nervously wondering why he wanted to talk to her.

As his phone went off he read it Don't move ill be there in a few he sent in reply. Spencer started up his jeep and drove down the highway towards the beach. He didn't bother going home first to change. The beach was only a few miles away from the base so he was there within minutes. He pulled into a spot and took a deep breath before getting out. His uniform stuck out as he walked down the beach looking for Eleanor. After awhile he found her and slowly walked up behind her. "Hey..." He muttered

Eleanor turned around and saw him, she quickly sat up in shock and didn't reply to his muttered hey. She turned slightly away but was still listening to him, she looked down at the sand and played with the sand with her feet.

Spencer rubbed his hand against the back of his neck just touching the back end of his hat. "Surprise..." He sighed quietly. He stared down at her awkwardly not sure what to say or even where to begin. "Well if you haven't already figured it out I'm in the army..." He said as calmly and clearly as possible.

"I can see that, Im not stupid and retarted" she said walking off up the beach slowly as her phone started to ring, she answered the phone and started to talk to her mother, she wanted her home. Eleanor hanged up and looked at Spencer, "and?"

"Perfect timing" he growled silently as he followed her up the beach. "Look it's not like I planned this. I joined before I even met you. I had been to basic and completed all the training. I met you and instantly fell for you. I wanted to tell you a long time ago but I didn't. I know it was wrong but I was afraid if I did you wouldn't want to be with me...." He replied.

Eleanor looked at him and then at the ground, she didn't know how to react to him. "I honestly don't know what to say Spencer" she said with little tears in her eyes, she still loved him but was scared, was there another side of this story, was he leaving.

"Don't cry. You're making this to hard..." He sighed looking away from her. He wasn't sure how to take her response or even how to say the next part. He figured it was best to just blurt it out and get it over with. "I... I'm getting deployed in a week..." He muttered quickly. Saying the words even sounded strange but reality was beginning to hit. Spencer tried holding in his emotions figuring it best to appear strong.
