Poppy took a deep breath before getting to her feet and answering the door, smiling as best she could. "Hey." she greeted her boyfriend, standing aside so he could enter.

Bee felt his body press against hers and she felt so... so warm. She gently caressed his neck with her hands and she tilted her head to the side, kissing him harder and even more passionately.

Luke moved his legs over hers and kissed down her neck. He traced back up to her lips and held her close still. He tried to make her feel good. He had his eyes closed respectfully and kissed her hard, he was even breathing harder because of it.

I step inside and lean my board on the wall. "Hey," I say and wait for her to move somewhere first. I could feel everything as off about her. "Are you sure nothing's wrong?"

Poppy led him into the living room, sitting herself down. "Sit." she pointed to the space beside her, deciding to tell him quickly and not make a big deal out of it. "I'm joining the Army." she said once he had sat down.

I sat down and my heart froze as she told me. I know she had been talking about it, and I respected her decision, but now it felt like something was leaving me that I couldn't deal with. I look around and try to not look at her. My mouth twitched trying to find something to say. "Poppy," I started and brought my eyes to hers, "you know I love you and respect everything you do. I really don't want you to go though. You are everything to me, and you know that, and if you go..." I trailed off and took a breath. "It would be like a big part of my life would be gone."

Poppy bit her lip, holding back tears. "I'm sorry. I just. . . feel like it's the right thing to do." she took his hand and held it, still not letting herself cry.

I hung my head as she took my hand. I couldn't hold back and I let a tear roll down my face. I wiped it away and tried to not cry anymore. "You have to promise me something," I choked out and tried to clear the lump in my throat. "You have to come back alive. I don't care if you are missing an arm or a leg, or both. You have to live."

Poppy sighed, a few tears rolling down her cheek silently. "I can't promise that." she replied quietly, holding his hand tighter. "I'm sorry." she said even quieter, breathing in so she couldn't start sobbing.
