marcus sits in the car, his head against the window as his mum drives. sadly everyone was in the car, his mum, two sisters, and three brothers. he didn't want to listen to them trying to comfort him and apologize for sending him the the stupid place, so he had ear plugs in. silence was the only thing he heard for five hours as they drove. no music, no talking, no outside noise, just quiet. though silence for five hours would turn any normal person mad, marcus was fine with it, in fact he enjoyed it more then noise. suddenly feeling something on his ear, marcus turns only to have one of his ear plugs ripped out. "come on Marcus, please speak to us." his mother begs for the millionth time. Narrowing his eyes, he glares at her, staring at the ear plug she had in her hand. Heaving a sigh, she hands it back and he smiles slightly at it before putting it back in. ever since he stopped talking all anyone ever did was beg him to start talking again, when before they yelled at him to shut up. Glancing up at the mirror, he sees his twin brother Nick looking at him sadly, begging him to talk with his eyes. Shifting his head, marcus lets his hair fall over his eyes before laying it back down against the window.
as they pull up to the building, marcus bites his lip not wanting to enter the supposedly haunted building. "well your not going to talk so get out and go inside." his mum snaps, yanking out his ear plugs before realization crosses her face as she realizes how she sounded. marcus blinks and opens the door. "marcus mum didn't mean to snap at you. we just think this is the best thing for you." his younger brother Sam says threw the window. grabbing his luggage from the trunk, marcus walks inside without even a glance behind him, ignoring all the yells of goodbye from the car. "are you marcus?" a voice asks from beside him. turning around he sees what he guessed to be the caretaker. Nodding, marcus stares at the man. " ah yes, right you don't talk. alright than, follow me to your room." the man says taking marcus' luggage and walking upstairs. "you and another member will be sharing the attic room. your roommate is of the opposite sex, I do hope that won't be an issue." the man continues talking as they head up to the attic. Marcus smiles at the man and takes his stuff back as they arrive at the room, before closing the door and sliding down to the floor. Pulling his ear plugs out again, he puts them in and goes to unpack his stuff.
