I had to bite my tongue to prevent from aww'ing at him for two reasons. One, I don't do that. And two.. Damn. I thought I had a second reason but I lost it. Getting back to the point. I was beaming like he was telling some grade A jokes. "Alright, now that's just not fair. Who's the one that defines coolness? Definitely not the beefed up idiots that strut around this school. If they're the reason for this," I picked a spitball from his hair and flicked it to the side with narrowed eyes, "Then I'm the reason it'll stop. People pick on people without friends. Which pushes you further into an 'I'm worth nothing' pile of self-esteem.. Lacking. I think if we're friends, that'll cut down. Eh?" I thrust my hand out slowly, as if thinking about it, before locking my arm out into a handshake ready position. I knew bullying. I resented it. I might still be a bully at times, but it was.. Different. I bullied bullies who either bullied me first, or bullied others.

Without looking, I heard the cup song girl raise her voice and sing a popular tune. She wasn't bad. But why.. Here..?

I did a little happy dance. "Perfect! If todays assignment requires partners, you better pick me." I smiled and winked turning towards the gym. "C'mon now. Don't want to be too late, now do we?" this time I did skip, my excitement too much to contain. Finally! A friend! An him having gym with me was just too perfect for words. I knew today would be a good day.

Klare sighed as Sean sat away from her. At this rate, she would never have any friend. So she wasn't popular. Who cares any way. Not her. So what if she's weird or a geek? She loved who she was and if others didn't like her, so what. But the truth is she let popularity bother her too much. She wished that she honestly didn't care, but she did. She loved having someone around to talk too. Bored and thinking way to much, Klare got out a piece of paper and began writing lines from one of her childhood roles.

all I have at home is two dogs, four cats, six bunny rabbits, two parakeets, a green turtle, a bowl of goldfish, a cage of white mice, and a silly old hamster. I want a squirrel. But not just any old squirrel I want a trained squirrel

It was one of Veruca Salt's lines from Charlie and the chocolate factory. She had been in that play during the 8th grade and she had memorized all her lines before she was even cast as Veruca and then forgot them that summer.

I was...speechless actually. So she was...anti-bullying? Does that mean this is a pity friendship request? It seemed genuine which made the whole thing weirder. But, she was right. If I was seen hanging around with a pretty red-head like her maybe it wouldn't be as bad. At least they coulnt tease me for my friend-less state anymore. All right. I'll go with this. For now. I stuck my hand out and shook hers. "This is...weird." I chuckled quietly.

I chuckled along with him before allowing my hand to fall limp. "Yeah, well it's not like I wake up and do this every day either." I told him in a light hearted "duh" voice. I saw the coach start walking our way, putting me on curious edge. "Heads up." I muttered, hand over my jaw as I looked away nonchalantly. I knew he had something lousy to say about the inactivity. How he said it, though, was the problem here.

I smiled at her and nodded slowly. Then she whispered a heads up. I turned to see coach heading our way. "oh great..." I moaned, getting ready for the lecture of a lifetime. But wait, I had never gotten lectured for talking in class. This was a new feeling...I like it. I'm pretty sure I could get used to this. I smiled and waved at Coach.

Alison found a corner to sit in, and watch everyone. She saw some guy waving at the coach. Hes got guts she said to herself. But she chuckled a little bit at it. She saw that same girl doing the cup song AGAIN. Why did I walk up to her? Alison thought to herself. She glanced over at the guy waving to the coach again.Wow. He's kind of cute she concluded. She then said out loud," I'm gonna go talk to him." Then she decided to speak to him after the coach gave him detention.

Coah walked up and, as expected, gave me the lecture of a lifetime. According to him, I was going nowhere in life and should just quit now. Well, no where except the detention room. I looked down at the pink slip in my hand and sucked my teeth, upset that I had to stay longer in school just to do nothing. Id have to call my mom. What would she say? Maybe I should just tell her I was tutoring someone? I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, staring at the pink slip.
