"Er, I don't know of that's allowed" Rayne said thoughtfully then the urge to see Julie's face came over him. "But then, what the heck, let's go" he said grabbing Selly and Julie's hands and ran out the doors. As soon as they were outside he fumbled with the ribbon holding his mask and soon it unraveled. He carefully pulled the mask from his face.

And just like that, you're back in the void...All alone, with your emptiness...Empty Zigzag, just a vessel for others to use, a tool, a puppet, a... The tall tragedy felt his trembling start all over again as he watched Echo interact with the girl. He felt like screaming, too, but attention wasn't something he wanted any longer. Quietly backing away from the situation, he turned around to find his way back into the building. An empty table was calling his name, one near an empty corner, where he could listen to himself push and pummel, all night long. And to think...you still have nearly five hours left! Isn't that just grand? Zigzag groaned at his thoughts, roughly opening the door, music from the ballroom echoing throughout the halls of the hotel. Echo, Echo, he doesn't need you, Echo! "Shut up...!"

i looked up at her, cocking my head to one side, wondering why she bothered. i quickly looked down, cursing myself for letting this stranger see me cry. zigzag saw you cry - but that was different, zigzag was different. i didnt know exactly how though. "u-um i-im ok" i said unconvincingly, looking around to see if zigzag really left. he did. he hates you and soon this girl will too, everyone you talk to hates you. i covered my ears in a feeble attempt to stop the voices why would anyone want to talk to you? youre pitiful, pathetic, you cant even stop thinking about that zigzag kid. "s-stop" i said pathetically, not able to stop the tears but the thoughts gave me a break for the moment. i opened my eyes to see the girl next to me, remembering i wasnt alone.

Akira looked at the boy and gently whipped his tears with a handkerchief she had. Then she helped him stand. "Come to the balcony with me?" She felt her heart go out to the boy. He was alone just like her.

Selly untied her mask once outside and revealed a soft caramel complexion and dark brown eyes looking up at him. "Ummm hahaha well thats over with" she let her straight brown hair fall over her shoulders. She saw Rayne looking at Julie in awe. She frowned and looked away.

Zigzag wasn't happy at all as he pushed and shoved his way into the ballroom once again, determination and rage giving him a clear path to his desired empty table. He immediately sat down, shoving his hair out of his eyes, and glared hard at the table before him. It was quite shocking the thing didn't run away from him or burst into flame. Maybe you should just have a melt down or something so you can go home, he told himself. Or, to be more accurate, so you can be alone, like you should be.

Julie took off her mask better revealing her stormy green eyes and fair skin. She looked at Rayne and caught him looking so she looked down her blood throbbing in her vains. His grey eyes were gorgeous. She needed a way to let loose her freak out without anyone seeing and she slipped her mask back on. "Hey, I'm gonna go to the bathroom and then try and find Jimmy okay?" She asked her new best friend and her crush. Then she turned on her heels and went back inside making sure her mask was secure.

Rayne had found himself gaping at Julie when she took off her mask and he found his heart wrench as she said she wanted to go inside and find the other boy. She doesn't like you! He told himself. Who would like you? He decided he might as well at least have a friend tonight and turned to Selly who wasn't paying attention. He found a flower on the ground and picked it up. Handing it to Selly he said "hey, thanks for being friends with me"

i was taken aback by her question and her wiping my tears away. "u-um o-okay" i said, still unsure why she was helping. i looked at her, not ready to trust this girl yet. this was fast, and strange, why was she talking to me? i guess ill just go with her, i have nothing better to do, but i don't want to hurt her. you cant get close to her- see what happened with zigzag? - thinking about him was like a knife stabbing me in the heart, i let another tear drop to the ground. i shook the thoughts out of my mind and focused on the girl once more, i looked at her carefully, trying to see why she wanted to talk to me, the usual cautious fear reflecting from my eyes.

Akira saw hi. Looking at her like a scared wild animal. " its ok. I'm doing this because I want to. There is a reason my mask is a cat." She says pointing to the mask. "I only do what i want when I want" she lead him out to the patio and sat at a table with him. The music wasn't loud out here and was just in the background. No one elected was around that she could see.

Selly watched as Raynes eyes grew wide and he gaped at Julies beauty. Sadness and fear welled up in her eyes. She looked up as Julie spoke "Okay sounds good! See you later then? Tell him I say hi!" she turned and faced Rayne, surprised when he handed her a flower. "Oh-thank you, it's beautiful. Hahah yea thanks for being um... friends with me to." She smiled at the word friends but was saddened also.
