My name is Josiah Kokochiyoi. Yes, I was born into a japanese family in Japan, though my eyes aren't small mind you. Kokochiyoi means 'pleasant,' and that is precisely what my family is. Actually, I have a japanese name too. It's Kakko, which means 'firm' in japanese. Kakko Kokochiyoi. I like my name, both of them.

I am a boy, man, male, whatever you want to call it. I don't mind if you mistake me for a woman, but if you do then maybe you should have your eyes checked. My mother is a girl, woman, female, and there is one fine line between male and female. Is it weird that both words have 'male' in them? I find it quite strange, maybe because men are superior to women, but I have no idea at the moment.

I'm 18 years old. I realise I'm getting pretty old, but I treasure my life. I try to make sure I live it to the fullest, and all that stuff. My birthday's in July, July the 14th. I guess its date is alright since it's in the summer, but I always have a boring birthday, so I don't mind. My father's birthday is quite close to mine actually, July 17 was it? Yep, it is fun, I try to enjoy the most of it. As mentioned, I was born in Japan, it really is a nice place, but my family took a house that isn't in a noisy city. They say that they like the peace.

Josiah is not too tall or too short. He's about 5'8 and weighs around 57 kg, pretty light but he never really did eat much. He doesn't have distinct abs, but a faint trace of a four pack shows that he exercises sometimes which maintains his outer weight appearance. Facial and head features, now he has charcoal coloured hair, but since no one's natural hair colour is completely black, if you look closely it's a very dark brown. It's soft but when you look at it it seems to have a wavy texture mixed with occasional natural spikes. His eyes are quite large and are pale grey with lighter coloured flecks here and there. Mostly fair skin, he doesn't go to the beach often but he always seems to feel cold, so he tends to wear a black jacket where ever he goes. Attire is mostly black and grey, rarely showing any of his skin unless he's swimming.

Josiah doesn't have as much talents as most people, but maybe he does. One of the areas he excels in is horse back riding. He isn't obsessed with it, he just likes it. Studied and trained since he was about ten years old, he actually even owns a horse back in Japan. His horse's name is Agro and they've developed a pretty strong bond between each other. Another one of his 'talents' is surprisingly cooking/baking in general. Josiah took unusual interest in this area when he was around 6 years old and began to take classes at 7 years. He can make just about anything, except those super fancy french dishes. Though the first thing he learned to make was ramen and dumplings, in which he is practically an expert at now. The last talent he has is music-related. The only instrument he knows how to play is the violin, and he loves playing it. The first piece he learned was 'Ave-maria' at the age of 12. His own violin meant so much to him at the time that he actually gave it a name, which is Kirito. Josiah also knows how to speak fluent japanese and english, but that doesn't really count as a talent does it?

p e r s o n a l i t y

Josiah is not good with words, and can be very blunt and rude to others without realising. He can be quite overconfident at times, thinking he can do things that others cannot, and puts himself in danger often. He doesn't have that many friends, so he is often independent and misunderstood due to his lack of sociality, but he never leaves anyone to die alone. Josiah is a calm and collected character as well, rarely showing any signs of distress and his laid-back attitude adds to that trait. He tries not to attract much attention from the others, because of his strong emotions which take control over him from time to time. Mostly hanging out on trees or dozing in a meadow, he isn't really anti-social, but he just doesn't interact with others that much. Josiah has no problem talking to anyone, it's just his habit to wander off by himself. He is willing to die for others, always saying that it's better to die together than die alone.

Josiah's family is japanese, as he mentioned earlier. His mother's name is Onkou which means gentle, and his father, Tanoshii which means fun. Family name is Kokochiyoi, mentioned earlier as well. Onkou is about 48 years old and specialises in kendo and was taught japanese as well as english etiquette. She mastered the tea making ceremony and used to be a waitress at a high-class restaurant. Now she works as a clerk in a fiver star hotel, not going for any huge jobs because she is very family oriented. Tanoshii, on the other hand runs his own ramen shop and specialises in cooking. He is 56 years old and was also an expert in furniture crafting. He mastered the art of the sword when he was 17 years old and his old job was a hairdresser in a neighbouring town. The family currently lives on a large piece of land with the average mansion and a stall to keep Agro in.

Josiah's history is a lot to explain, so just take the background info on every section and bunch it all up together. Just kidding, Josiah was born in Tokyo and he stayed there for 9 months. Then they moved to China because of his mother's job, she was called to wait in the same restaurant in that country. After 8 years of living in China, they moved back to Japan for 6 years then moved to the U.S. up until now. Tanoshii stayed in Japan, so Josiah and his mother came to visit often, almost every holiday he got from school. That is his history so far.

Well, you've heard this before I'm sure but I will say it again. Khael Phillips is an average eighteen year old. Whenever he stands tall he's probably about - hm, let's see - 6 foot tall? He's not lanky as such as he does have a nice build, yet he's not quite the gym junkie either. I guess you could describe him as lean, shredded or toned as you may. Unfortunately for him, I've also heard the word 'cutie' whispered between groups of giggling girls a few times. It's not the best word choice; no but it does say lots about his looks. He's sort of like one of those Tumblr guys you always see; sandy blonde hair, tanned skin and quite a nice jawline might I add. And what about his eyes you ask? Blue; like the sky on a cloudless day or that really nice light blue colour of the swimming pool. That's what they were. Oh and by the way, note how I used the word 'were' in past tense? Yeah, well the thing is... He's blind.


Oh hush hush; yes I know I left the most important detail until last. Khael is blind, however this is something that really only happened in the last 2 years or so. I could just cut to the chase right now and explain how it happened but let's just go from the beginning.
Ah yes, he was quite an adorable child wasn't he? Always smiling, laughing and up to plenty of mischief. Tut, tut. Why do they grow up so fast? Khael grew up like any other child. From when he was born, he has always grown up in the same place. Same house in the same old town. That house is still where the family calls home. Most of Khael's life and friends are based around that area therefore he never ran out of things to do. School was the same old story. He achieved good grades; high B standards throughout the years and as most boys did, played a range of sports. Football, volleyball, basketball... As it turned out, his talents in the sporting field were well known as a standout player whose heart was in the right place. Sadly, his talents were cut off when he was just 16.

At this stage, Khael was a bit reckless. I mean, aren't all teenage males a bit rebellious at that age? Parties, drinking, flirty females and well, sex. Now I'm not going to bore you with the details, I mean you can find them out from Khael himself another time. So let's keep this short and sweet shall we? It was after a party as usual and the idiot, I mean, Khael was drunk... Again. Yadda yadda yadda, big party and Khael goes out driving with a lady friend. He then gets into a freak car accident that leaves him critically injured and was rushed to the ER. And when he finally came to, yes you guessed it, was blind. But he was also a changed person.

Look inside for a moment, eh? There, stop here. Despite not having any sight, he really knows what is going on around him which interestingly makes him very observant. But come on, do we really need to know that? All you need to know is that he’s a nice guy with a sense of humour. Really compassionate that Khael, he knows what he wants. Caring and sweet also but not many people really understand that because all they see is a blind teenager.
Now I know he’s had his fair share of girls but that was before he changed. That was when he was an arse. But now without his vision, I think he worries if he’s ever going to find someone. After all, the only people that truly see him are his family and friends.
