Sam left the boys and walked quickly to the trailer, a soft smile still playing on her lips. It wasn't that she really felt anything for Samuel, at least, not yet really. But he was kind and the conversation had left her in a good mood. Perhaps she would make friends at Ravenwood, fit in after all. Upon reaching the trailer, she stopped and looked around. The morning had grown warmer and now the horses were mostly in their stalls. Michael had disappeared into the barn and while she had considered seeing if he needed help, She was eager to see her new living quarters.
Louis greeted her when she opened the truck door and Sam carefully placed him into the passenger side seat. She rolled her eyes then removed her iPhone from her pocket and sent a text to Michael. 'Come get the cat! Tack can wait. Heading to the dorm.' The truck gave a soft groan as Sam keyed the ignition then, after some sputtering, started to life. She moved the truck and rig into their assigned parking space not far down, then stepped out again to un-hitch the trailer and remove any essentials from the trailer. Soon she was parked in front of the dorm, fighting to keep Louis in the truck as she removed her things. "Just stay in!" Sam said, finally closing the cat in the cab. She'd left the windows cracked open, and the day was still cool enough that the cat would be comfortable in the truck, but Samantha hoped her brother got him out soon.
"Now... where do I get my room key?" Sam whispered to herself. With trunk, backpack and computer bag all in tow, she made her way awkwardly towards the building. Inside, Sam waited in line for her room key and thought about her future roommate. Emily Campbell. The 'First Day Information' letter had read. Also a show jumper. Samantha found herself hoping that the girl would be neat. If going to boarding school had taught her anything, it was that messy people drove her crazy. The dorm attendant returned from her office with the dorm key and Sam proceeded upstairs.
She entered the dorm to find Emily tidying up. Well, at least thats a good sign. Emily's long auburn hair hung loose down her back and Sam could see the edges of tattoos peeking out from under her shirt. Samantha thought about what her mother would have said if she had seen the girl. A woman of high society Alison Brooks did not approve of tattoos or piercings especially on girls. Sam didn't mind them really, but as someone who was somewhat sheltered in life and also very much 'preppy' {if not high-society} the girls appearance took her slightly off guard. Stop worrying Sam, you two could get along fine. But being honest she wasn't so sure.
She smiled and entered the room. "You must be Emily." She said, moving towards the open bed and setting her bags at the foot. "I'm Samantha..." Even to Sam's ears the greeting sounded stiff and formal. "So... your a jumper too, correct?"
