Aspen quietly backed her chestnut mare out of the trailer, anxiety eating at her bad. She wondered how Riley liked the ride into Ravenwood. Aspen herself had enjoyed it; the car ride was certainly pleasant to her, but then again, she always liked long rides. The only down side of long rides with her horse was that Riley typically had a ton of energy pent up by the end and was a pain to manage -- especially on trail rides.

Aspen shook her thought of car rides away and focused on Riley as she jumped up about a foot. She hesitated a moment, waiting for the mare to calm down before bringing her anywhere. She gently tugged on the lead rope to let her mare know they were going up ahead, and as soon as she did that, Riley began giving Aspen an unwanted slower trot ahead. Aspen sighed but jogged along with her horse. She hoped doing this would take some of Riley's energy away. As the pair neared the barn, Aspen abruptly halted the mare. Riley snorted softly but Aspen ignored it. Her mind was set on what it would be like daily at the equestrian center and how the others that were accepted acted like. Aspen snapped out of her thoughts quickly once she felt Riley point her nose forwards, thus slightly faltering Aspen's grip on the lead rope.

"W-w-we're going," she quietly reassured her horse with a stutter and started forward again to the stables, trying to reach stall she was assigned with fast -- the stall with the number five on it. The longer she had to deal with Riley, the more she had to deal with her trying to go faster than a walk. Aspen didn't need a mare running wild around the stables. The loud sound of her mare's hooves on the ground was heard, and it led to the quickly - spotted stall. Aspen directed the quarter horse into the stall. She rubbed Riley's nose gently while taking off her red halter before allowing her to neglect her owner and begin gorging down her hay. Aspen stood there silently with her weight shifted to one side while musing about how her mare already looked like she had been at Ravenwood for quite a while now. A small smile crept up on her lips and she set the halter and lead rope around her shoulder.

Samantha Brooks
Good Morning! My name is Samantha Jane Brooks but most people at Ravenwood just call me Sam. I am Nineteen years old and this is my first year at Ravenwood.I was born on November 1st, though I really don't like to celebrate it... My step-brother is also here at Ravenwood. His name is Michael Brooks-O'Conner.

Personality

Intense - Driven -Disciplined - Perfectionist - Anxious - Guarded
Reserved - Polite - Neat - Orderly - Focused

"I have a hard time making friends or getting close to people, but that's not what I'm here for anyway. Is it?"

Romantic Relationships

I'm straight an currently single.

Other Relationships

Michael Brooks-O'Conner
Honestly, Michael is the best step-brother anyone could ask for... I worry about him sometimes. He really can be absolutely brainless but at the end of the day I love him... and he's my best friend.

Jay Brooks
My Father is like me in that he is fairly reserved and doesn't show his emotions. Still, we have a pretty good relationship. I miss him sometimes.

Hazel O'Conner
Honestly I'm not always sure what to think of Michael's mom. She's pretty much the complete opposite of my dad and yet... they work.

Background

Although both my parents were English, I was born in the South of France. I loved both my parents dearly, but they traveled frequently and I spent most of my days alone save for one nanny or another. My was and is a passionate and successful business man and while we moved often, we always had large houses or beautiful holiday homes. My mother did three day eventing.

I was given my first pony at four, a tiny, fat little thing that I still remember fondly. I don't even remember a time when I wasn't riding. My mother took over my training when I was seven, and though I enjoyed the time I got to spend with her, she was very strict. Many nights I would come home absolutely exhausted. I was sure that she hated me, that I had failed her, but then without fail she'd take me gently in her arms and reassure me and I knew that I couldn't let her down. I trained with my mother from the time I was seven to the day before my eleventh birthday.

And on my eleventh birthday I watched her die.

It was a freak accident. Her horse had a heart attack while flying over a six foot oxer and collapsed. I remember I was alone in the stands that day, my mothers barn mates attending to their own horses. Her neck snapped when she hit the ground and she died instantly. My father was reluctant to let me keep up with lessons after that, but I insisted. It was strange how we grew closer in the little things we learned about each other, like what he liked in his tea or who my favorite composers were, after my mother passed and yet how we remained distant. I didn't think my father would ever get over my mum, so I was surprised when only a year and a half later he remarried. Don't get me wrong, I liked Hazel with her soft smile and perpetually warm demeanor, but she seemed so different from my own understanding of what a mother was that for a while I didn't even really consider her as much. But she did make my dad happy, and convinced him to stay home more. And there was Michael, who was 12 years old like me and enjoyable enough... if not occasionally annoying.

About Me
'Ello! My Name is Michael James Bennet-O'Conner but since that's quite the mouthful feel free to just call me Michael. My sister {well, step-sister technically} Sam is the real star but I'm excited to be here as well! I'm twenty years old and was born on August 28th. My pony's name is 'See Spot Run' or Spot for short... and I call him a pony because I play Polo.
I'm pretty much Ravenwood's Class Clown.

"I believe in living and loving intensely. I'm loyal to a fault and always take care of my friends, sometimes to my own detriment."

Romantic Relationships
Well, I'm pretty much straight. I just got out of a three year relationship so I'm single... But not honestly sure if I'm ready to date or not.

Other Relationships
Sam Brooks
Sam is my best friend, we take care of each other... Well, I guess mostly she takes care of me. I can be an absolute wreck of a person sometimes...
Hazel O'Conner
My mum and I are close. Very close. I don't see her nearly as much as I do.
Jessie O'Conner
My father and I, on the other hand, don't get along at all. He thinks all this messing with horses is ridiculous. Well, I think hurting my mum was ridiculous so I guess were even. I see him sometimes still, but it's always a tense situation.
Benjamin O'Conner
Ben, my older brother, and I haven't talked in ages. We sort of parted ways when Mum married Jay. We got into a lot of trouble together growing up... I've reformed a bit... He's still getting in trouble.
Jay Brooks
Jay and I have a sort of agreement. He calls me 'sport' instead of son and I call him Jay instead of 'dad'. We don't always see eye to eye {if ever] but he's helped me out of a few tight spots, paid for my riding lessons, and takes care of my mum. He's a good man.

Michael started riding at 13 and is self conscious about his ability, along with most other things, though he tries not to show it. In the past he's had a bit of a drinking problem, though lately he's been better. He does smoke occasionally but not habitually as of late. He wears glasses or contacts and occasionally speaks with a stutter when nervous.

In addition to riding, Michael also plays guitar and sings. Sometimes performing at local pubs and cafe's. He often feels torn between two dreams, becoming a musician or becoming a horse trainer.

Background

I was born outside of Leeds and for the first seven years of my life I lived in a little two bedroom house with my parents and older brother. To me, it was a 'normal' upbringing but I would later learn that my early years weren't as perfect as I'd imagined. My father, a construction worker, was prone to drinking and was always in and out of a job. Money was tight and he and my mum fought a lot... sometimes with things coming to blows. She would send my brother and I out to play in the garden while they fought and until one day my mother told me we were moving, without dad... Well, I never realized anything was wrong.

I guess love isn't always meant to last.

Anyway, Ben, Mum and I all moved into a little flat in London. She got a job waiting tables at a local breakfast place and my father was became a more distant figure in my life. When I wasn't in school, I was tagging along after my older brother and his friends... probably not a good idea. Remember the trouble I told you about earlier? Well, I guess you would call Ben and his gang 'trouble'... maybe even delinquents. I won't go into detail... but I wasn't on a good path. I started smoking at 11, was first drunk at 12... I think my brother's friends thought it was funny... and my mom... Well, she was so busy and if she did notice she didn't say anything.

Then, when I was 12 mum met Jay while working at the cafe. She had dated before, but Jay was different. He wore a suit and drove a nice car... he also treated her with respect. Jay's wife had died in an equestrian accident seven months prior and he'd started coming to the cafe Saturday mornings for someone to talk too, sometimes he would bring his daughter. Jay and Mum started dating a few months later... I didn't really expect it to last but three months later they were engaged... I guess things are funny that way.

If Mum told a blind eye to my trouble making, Jay was set on fixing it. He started picking me up after school to hang out at the barn with Sam. I hated it at first, but I did like the horses and more, I liked Sam. She quickly became my best friend. Jay would always try to get Ben to come with us too, but he never would. Ben hated Jay. When Jay and Mum got married, he almost refused to go to the wedding, and afterwards he refused to move into Jay's house. He went to live with my Dad instead... He thinks I'm a traitor.

Sam and I were always in the same year in school, but I learned quickly that she didn't want to stay in the UK for high school. Instead, she wanted to go to Bayley academy. An American school where her mother had ridden while preparing for the Olympics. We were all surprised when Jay agreed to let her go and more surprised when he offered to send me. I could tell you tons of stories of my adventures at Bayley, where I was on the Polo Team... but the story ends with me graduating with no plans for my future and basically following Sam again as she came to Ravenwood. I've got to admit, I feel pretty homesick. My girlfriend broke up with me when she learned I'd be moving and... well... I haven't been exactly right... but that's how it is.

I've trained Spot since he was 4 years old. He's a great horse, one of those who is generally safe for a newer {though not totally new} rider but still fun for someone more experienced to ride. He loves begging for carrots and usually gets them from me. Even if I'm not leading him he'll follow me around the barn. I talk to him like he's a human. He was my first horse.

"Oh, hey. I'm Dean Winchester, I'm from Lawrence, Kansas, and I'm 21 years old. Born on March 1st. I have a younger brother who will be around here soon for you to meet, so let's get on with this! I'm about 185 cm high - 6ft 1inch, if you're wondering -, I weight 84 kg (185lb) and my shoe size is 10. Before I came to this equestrian school my first occupation was as a hunter who won lots of trophies for catching the biggest bucks, but yeah.. I kinda hated that and came here instead since I really love horseback riding. My horoscope is Pisces... What else? Hmm... Oh, I'm named after my maternal grandmother Deanna, peace on her soul... And that's about it... Almost. I'm in group A, by the way... Oh, and I drive around in a 67 Black Chevy Impala... Hint the name I put on my horse." *winks*

"I'm a really complex person. On the outside I might look like the typical badboy heartbreaker that only does it for one night and it's over, but that isn't true... Not entirely. When I fall for someone it takes me time to forget them and move on to the next person, one year tops, unless that person shows up earlier. I have a great sense of humor, I'm mostly chatty and get what I want; my way. I love annoying my little brother and I get really mad, annoyed no, mad when someone else but me uses my brother's nickname to speak to him. So yeah, watch your mouth there. I'm also a really loyal person, caring, protective of the ones I love, though I don't give good advices. Patience is not my virtue so don't toy with it. More than that, when I get really mad I start throwing punches - yeah, tough childhood - so don't try stopping me if I get to that point, my brother knows how to stop me."

"My past really hasn't been all pink for me, and neither has it been for my little brother. When I was only four and he was only six months old, our mom died in a house fire and I carried my baby brother outside the house, saving him from the flames and bringing him to safety out in our front lawn. Our father survived and we switched town and neighborhood so we could have a normal life away from that terrible memory. I've always been the type to ride horses and, each time I could, I would go to the nearby horse camp that was near the town and spend an hour or so riding around with one of my best friends. He, though, died in a car accident when I turned 18 and my brother was barely 15. Later on, when I turned 20 and my brother 17, I came to Ravenwood because I was eager to be away from home, from the terrible life of a hunter I had... And the future of an engineer that awaited me. An year later and my brother came as wel; so glad he did that. Anyways, I had a terrible relationship with my father and, even though most of our time was spent argueing over whether my brother would go to university or not, we also had our ups, especially when I hunted down another big buck. Long story short, our dad died after I came to Ravenwood and my brother, sad and confused, came to look for my protection; so I gave it to him. So yeah, be careful when you ask me about my past... Please."

past or present,
that I would put in front of you!

"My crush? Nah, not really... Although I was once inlove with a girl in my class when I was 16... She was amazing, my first love...," *sigh* "Well, I managed to get over her and now I'm here, after spending endless nights after nights in different bedrooms with different girls. But now it's over... I'm single and ready to find someone who I'd like to be with no matter what. And if you ask, I've never had any kids nor have been married; I'm 21, for Christ's Sake! Anyways, other than that... It's all I got to say here."

Image

"So... My family, huh? Well, like I said, my mom died in a house fire, our dad raised us and, after I came here to Ravenwood, he died from a stroke. Besides him and my brother, I actually have no family left; no aunts, no cousins, no nothing. I know it's kind of sappy, but it's just my life. And I always hide behind my smiley mask. So yeah, don't poke me there."

"Hi, uhh... My name is Samuel Winchester, but my friends just call me Sam and, well, my brother calls me Sammy... Only him though. My birthday is on July 19th and I'm currently 18 years old. My brother must've told you some stuff about me... Well, I'm named after my maternal grandfather Samuel, peace on his soul... I'm also from Lawrence, Kansas... Uhh, well, I'm 6ft 4inch tall, I weight about 88 kg – 192 lb, and my shoe size is 12. I don't know why I really came here, in Ravenwood, but I guess it was because of my father's death and the fact that I was kind of lost at the time and needed someone close to me to protect me. Well, I got my brother now... And I'm starting to like the whole horse riding thing!" *winks* "And I'm in group B..."

"Well, I'm really different from my brother... I'm not the badboy heartbreaker type, I'm nicer than that and I really respect a girl's decision and when she says 'no'. I'm a bookworm, addicted to my laptop and a typical geek, although I don't wear glasses or anything. My brother says that I'm a total master of the puppy dog face, which is my only useful weapon to get everything, and I mean everything that I want. Still, I don't use it, although I can sometimes subconsciously put it on and probably melt your loins into butter, but still. When you're on my bad side, I totally pass page and I don't even listen to anyone's begs for mercy as I grab them and throw them across the room. Yeah, I have a problem with my personality, since my horoscope is Cancer, and it's like there's this dark pit inside me and I sometimes switch sides a lot, although I tend to keep it on the good side and don't cause any trouble. And no, I'm not jealous... Well, maybe a little bit, but hey, my brother will always be the hot one, right?" *pouts*

"My past? Well, I think Dean told you most of it, but okay... Our mom died when I was only a six month old baby, so I never really got to know her, hear the sound of her voice or the feel of her hand on my cheek... And Dean did." *fakes a chuckle and rubs eye* "Anyways, uhh... When I was six years old our dad taught me to hold a gun and shoot at targets, and when I turned 10 I hunted down my first buck. Wasn't anything big, though... I was never really good at it, so yeah.. Later on, when I turned 17, I was really looking forward into going into Stanford and studying law, but an year later I had to witness my dad's death and that just twisted my soul, chewed on it, spat it out and stomped it a hundred times; so I went to Dean to find relief in his arms.. I'm better now, though I sometimes have nightmares of my mom burning and screaming, although I have no idea why... And I wake up screaming in the middle of the night. But, other than that, I came here to get away from my past life and probably start a new one, surrounded by horses and peaceful lands. I'm starting to like it!" *grins*

"A crush? Well, I had one when I was 14... She was also my first girlfriend. But, an year later we broke up and she left with the 'new boy in school'. I was broken at first, but got over it pretty quickly since I knew it wasn't worth it to cry over someone who loved you just because you had 'nice long hair and a nice body'. Well, life's life. Right now I'm not into anyone, since I'm getting over my last girlfriend, Jessica; we went out when we were only 15 and that lasted until my dad's death... While Jess was on her way to the hospital, she crashed into another car and died there. So yeah, I'm still gettin' over it... But I'll be fine, though. Married? No. Kids? Nuh-uh. I'm single and getting over a big trauma, so go easy on me... Please?"

Image

"Umm, uhh..." *licks lips and chuckles* "That was already mentioned, but okay; after my parents' death, my brother was the only one I had and still have left. At first I thought that we could turn to an uncle, an aunt, a cousin or anything, just anyone, but I was wrong... State wanted to throw me out on the street since I couldn't really pay my studies, but I had enough luck to be accepted at Ravenwood and join my brother. Thank God! Otherwise I'd be hustling pool and living in motel rooms by now. I'm just thankful that my brother is still alive, otherwise I'd be lost without him..."

Show Name:
Backseat of the Impala

Barn Name:
Impala or Baby

Age:
She's 5 years old

Gender:
Mare

Owner:
Dean Winchester

Race:
Arabian

Personality:
Impala has almost always been Dean's horse, ever since he got into riding. At first she was the horse of his friend that suffered the car accident, but she wasn't really touched by that moment - she liked Dean more, and still does. Impala is a very adventurous mare, she's willing to take risky chances and just loves breaking the rules, even if it means kicking down the stall door and driving the other horses insane. She's very obedient and loyal towards her rider and his brother, though, and submissive; but, if you're a stranger to her, she instantly pulls her ears back and paws at the ground - first warning. If you extend a hand and dare touching her, even though yo have an apple, she will rear back and most likely try to kick you out of her stall or personal space. So yeah, she's wild like that... But when around Dean, she turns into a really nice, calm and dominated mare who is ready to please her rider and do everything he asks of her, from trotting to jumping the highest jump in a competition. Although she knows she would get hurt by doing that since she isn't well trained for it, but still... She loves living dangerously, and hates the stall, but when there's a storm there's no other place on the world she'd rather be than her stall.

History:
Impala was born in Dean's friend's ranch and raised by him until meeting the Winchester who would later be her rider. She enjoyed a happy 'childhood', although her mother was sold when she turned 2 years old. Later on, she became Dean's training horse and, after her owner's death, the Winchester's lifetime companion. There's not really much to say about her from that point on, only the fact that she loves nipping at Sam's hair and biting at Dean's shirt, pulling it off of him any time she can. She just enjoys her new life in Ravenwood and hopes to stay here for a very, very long time.

Mate/Crush:
Umm, no, she never stopped to check out any stallions...

Foals:
Nope, none yet...

For sale?:
Not in this lifetime!

Anything else?:
Sam sometimes rides her when Dean's busy, tired or just not in the mood.

Show Name:
Dare to Dream

Barn Name:
Bones

Age:
4 years old

Gender:
Mare

Race:
Palomino

Owner:
Samuel Winchester

Personality:
Unlike her friend Impala, Bones is more calm and obedient, not rising up much commotion and doesn't really tend to scare off strangers who come close to her to pet her or give her a treat. But, if you come with bad intentions, you'll have a hoof tattoo on your front for a very long time. When you get on her bad side, Bones can raise Hell just so you would leave her alone. She has those constant switches of personality, so she needs to be handled with care and patience. So if that's not one of your virtues, just step aside and leave her alone.

History:
Bones had a really bad life as a foal... She was actually born wild, but then was captured and held captive until she was broken and was submissive enough to become one's horse. She has been mistreated throughout mostly her entire life, and once even she was on the edge of death when her previous-to-Sam owner beat her to the ground with a shovel. She was bleeding and almost dead by the time the animal police got there, arrested the man and took her to urgencies. It took her a long time to recover, couple of years she guessed, until she was given to Sam, who instantly fell inlove with her [due to his love for animals, mostly dogs though, but still..] and adopted her just so he could join Ravenwood and be with his brother. Now she's happy, healthy and ready for what's coming ahead of her in the future.

Mate/Crush:
None

Foals:
None

For sale?:
In another lifetime, maybe.

Anything else?:
She is sometimes ridden by Dean. But that's that. Nobody else.

Dean opened his eyes and stretched, yawning and slowly looking around. He wasn't really in the mood to get up and walk out into the real world out there so he could somehow reach the stables and see his horse. He peeked over at the other bed, where his little brother slept facefirst against the pillow, the covers riding low on his hips; thank God he at least wore a T-shirt and pants. The older Winchester sighed and got up, lazily swinging on a black T-shirt, jeans and his favorite but old biker boots - yeah, don't ask. He ran his hand through his short hair a couple of times before rubbing his face with both hands and then walked out the door, wincing as the light of the day hit him right in the eyes. He sighed and started walking towards the stables, passing by one of the paddocks and smiling at the horses there. He licked his lips and kept on going, already hearing his impatient arabian mare rising Hell inside her stall. Dean chuckled and slowly entered the stables, looking around and then ahead at Impala, who had her head poked out of her stall, ears perked and black eyes fixed on him. She snorted and stomped her feet a few times while Dean was in no rush of reaching her stall, enjoying every second of this long tease. Once he got there, though, he scratched her forehead gently and opened the stall door, gently pushing her aside. "Ahh, man... Seriously, Baby?" he groaned, looking down at the mess she's made. Impala just snorted and bit at the back lower part of his shirt, pulling at it. Dean widened his eyes and started laughing. "Oh, no, you won't!" he mumbled and tried to get rid of her, but as always Impala ended up leaving him shirtless. She flicked her ears and tossed it over her 'mess', making Dean wince in disgust. "I hate you," he chuckled and picked it up, cleaned it off the best he could and stuck it's edge in his pocket. He took the mare out, brought the wheelbarrow and pitchfork and started mucking out the stall. Impala flicked her ears again and looked over to where Bones was drinking water in her stall and whinnied at her. The palomino mare flicked her tail in response. Dean rolled his eyes at them and, when he was finally finished, he left the pitchfork aside and started pulling the wheelbarrow out of the stall and to the manure pile [wherever that is]. He returned with clean straw, set it there and evened out the surface. He let out a breath and wiped his brow, looking at Impala. "Come here, sweetie," he said, whistling. Impala perked her ears, lowered her head and approached her rider, pushing her nose into the palm of his hand. "That a good girl," Dean cooed as he took out a sugar cube and fed it to her. He then looked at her food and water - full and fresh, just the way he wanted it. Right now he had no idea what to do, either wait for his brother to get his lazy rear off the bed or just spend some time with his horse. Option #2 seemed to please him more so he sat down and pat his thigh. Impala lay down behind him and placed her head over his shoulder. Dean grinned and stroked her nose.
"At the foot of Mount Tibor, surrounded and outnumbered,
the Order's only chance lay in this sword - the Runeblade.

The weapon was borne by the warrior Heron, and the dragon, Arokh.
As the armies clashed, Navaros entered a mystic trance,
drawing power for a massive spell of destruction.
With the stolen strength of his dragon's soul,
Navaros had grown far mightier than any mage before him.
As the words of destruction rose to his lips,
a lone dragon came shrieking from the clouds,
weaving amidst the streams of lightning and fire that flooded the sky.
On Arokh's back, Heron gripped the Runeblade in both hands,
and with one final cry,
drove it deep into Navaros' blackened heart.
All sound went silent somehow, in the moment of the act.
The tremendous forces Navaros had summoned were unleashed without direction.
The clash of swords was heard no longer, and blackness hung over the field.
When at last the smoke cleared, the two great armies lay decimated.
Where Navaros had stood, a wound-like rip had been torn in the very fabric of space.
In the smouldering crater below, Heron lay dead, the Runeblade broken in two at his side.
In that blackened pit, only the dragon Arokh still clung to life..."
