Allison kissed her baby brothers head and set him down on her bed. She waved goodbye to her sister and stepped out of the door. She closed it behind her and zipped up her over worn jacket her mother had to mend a lot, she always made the arm holes too big, so she could fit in it for 2 winters. She grabbed her bow, that had her name carved in it, and set out for the forest. She waved to her neighbor, and entered the trees. She walked for a while until she was far enough away from town to not be seen. She was very close tot he district border lines so she started to walk another way. She found a log to sit on, ten minutes later of walking, she sat down with a thunk, and rested. She heard a slight movement in the distance and stayed completely still. It was a bird, for sure. She slowly stood up and grabbed an arrow from her pouch and connected it to her bow, she slowly drawer back, and looked for the bird. She narrowed her eyes, and saw a tiny little hop from one if the twigs on the ground. She pointed her arrows at it, and waited a few second until the bird stopped moving. Perfect. She released her bow, and watched it slam into the bird. She ran up to it and picked it up. A smile grew on her face. This was enough to feed, Mom,Pop,Duncan,Lilly, and Me. Those were of course her siblings names. It was a chicken. She pulled her arrow out of the bird and rubbed it against her clothes to clean it off, put it back in her arrow pouch, and ran home. Once she arrived she gladly handed t over to her Mom and her mom was so excited she started preparing it right away. Allison sat on the floor with pleasure and smiled playing with her hair.
