Jag
- dressage teacher - Classic Noble [Noble] - Elaborate Crescendo [Cress] -
Jag made his way to the pasture to get Noble and Cress, they were both on pasture all day, he'd already fed them this morning, and now would groom and ride them. He would ride Noble first, and then Cress. Normally he was already hard at work, but he'd had things to do this morning. Noble and Cress got along impeccably and were in a pasture together, probably because they'd been raised in the same pasture together for most of their lives. Sure, Noble was a bit older than Cress, but they'd spent almost their whole lives together.
He pulled Noble and Cress both to the cross ties to begin grooming and tacking. They were usually very clean horses, they did roll, but they didn't roll in mud often. Noble tossed his head and pranced a bit, Cress was sniffing Jag's pockets for treats. As soon as he tied them, he set to work. Soon he got to the girthing of Noble, which was the worst part of the tack up, Noble was very girthy.
As soon as Jag put the girth on he was pawing and pinning his ears, reaching around to bite, if he reached around, Jag smacked Noble on the face, and Noble would stop for a second. As soon as this tacking up event was over, Jag took him to the show jumping ring. He liked that he could jump Noble in this ring, but he did do some dressage work, but this particular morning, Jag took Noble to jump. Jag mounted Noble in the ring, and began to stretch Noble, something unique about Jag was that he used a rubber snaffle bit or went bitless on his horses. Jag asked Noble to trot, his working trot in a nice stretch, Jag sprung lightly off Noble's back because Noble's back was raised from good work.
Jag soon asked Noble for a canter, and cantered in spiraling circles to get Noble balanced on his hind end. When Jag was pleased with this, he took Noble over a jump. The smaller 3'6 jump was made to look effortless by horse and rider. Noble simply flew over the jump's as if they were small cross rails. His tight knees and lowered head spoke of a good jumper, Noble landed on the left lead, and Jag asked him to straighten on the center line, and then did a leg yield to the rail.
Man and horse moved in perfect rhythm, perfectly tuned to each other. This illusion was broken, though, when Jag asked to go back to the trot, and Noble crow hopped a few steps. Jag made him trot, and then asked for the canter again, he asked for the downward transition multiple times till he was sure Noble had learned his lesson.
To show you what you need to live?
Tell it to me slowly
Tell you what?
I really want to know
It's the time of the season for loving
Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please,
begging please.
Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
