He looks up at her again, "just a black eye.. thay heal." his voice is even and neutral.. not unfriendly, but not inviting her to a long conversation either. He slid his worn black leather jacket onto the back of his chair. Owen looks back over briefly his blackend eye almost fully closed from the bruising his good eye red rimmed from holing back. Her reaction had suprized him, as much as he wanted to take comfert from Violet he didn't dare let her close to him. "you should just stay away from me." he mumbled softly not able to look her in the eye as he spoke. "I don't want to see anybody else get hurt because of me." a slight hitch almost hidden in his mostly even voice.
