Survive-If You Can... (Re-Opening!)

Rory nodded, "Yeah, hope.." and looked back to the ocean. She felt the breeze in her hair and closed her eyes. Hope was all she had now, and it was running out. "I don't mean to bring up any bad memories, but tell me about you're home.. please?" She asked. She wanted to keep the talking going, if there was just silence she was sure sh was going to go insane.

Damien smiled. "Which one? I've lived in Australia and all over the U.S." he told her, laying down.

Rory shrugged, "Which ever one you felt most at home," as she copied his movement and lied down beside him. She looked up to the stars, wishing to everyone of them that someone, anyone, would come and rescue them.

Damien thought for a moment. "Well my home in Australia was beautiful." he said slipping into his Australian accent. "We were right on a canal and I would go fishing every day with my sister." he said sighing.

Rory smiled when he described his home to her. She closed her eyes and imagined what the canal would have looked like. "That sounds amazing!" she said softly. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you move around so often?" She asked, keeping her voice light and not too loud. She opened her eyes again and looked over to Damien from where she was laying.

Damien turned on his side to look at her. "My dad's job." he said plainly. "Where did you live?"

Rory looked back up to the stars and answered, "I live in a small town in Wisconsin," She figured she should add a little like he had, "My parents own a bowling ally back home, my four older brothers and I help out when they need us to," she explained.

Damien stared at her face. "That sounds nice." he said.

"Yeah," she agreed. "I didn't spend much time there though, I liked volunteering at the local pet shelter more," she smiled, thinking of all the pets she'd helped while working there.

Damien smiled. "I love animals." he said. Suddenly, an outburst of barking came from the woods. He sat up quickly. "Hey, what's that?" he asked.
