Maye's eyes widened "S-Sean.." She warned. But her dad had already growled and rolled his eyes. He gave Maye a glared before walking to the kitchen to get a beer. Maye resolved to stifle the cry rising in her throat since he had left the bottle in her arm. Tears leaked from her eyes but she stayed on the couch.

Sean knelt down beside her "are you ok?" He asked worried he turned and galared at her dad then looked back at Maye "where are you hurt?" His eyes were filled with kindness and worry

"The bottle," Maye said through clenched teeth. She glanced at her dad with a sad sigh. "I-I..." She trailed off and looked away.

Sean looked at the bottle and saw that her dad drove it into her arm. He gritted his teeth "that bastard" he said under his breath. He looked at Maye before tearing a strip of cloth of his shirt "this is going to hurt" he said softly "I'll try to take it out slowly but I can't garentee that it will ease the pain" he said softly.

Maye let the tears fall this time, watching him. "It hurts more every second it stays in so just. Get. It. Out.." She said shakily, squeezing her eyes shut with a choked sob. She but her lip and held her arm out.

"If you say so" Sean said softly "you might want to bite your tongue" he said calmly before he carefully yanked the broken bottle out of Mayes arm. He wraped the wound with the piece of cloth from his shirt. He smiled kindly. "I swear I will never forgive that man for doing this to you" he said softly he glanced back at her dad and narrowed his eyes at him before looking back at Maye

Maye flinched and held up a scream that built up in her throat. She wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug "My knight in shining armor..." She whispered softly in his ear before releasing him and stood up. She held her arm and closed her eyes as pain washed over her.

Sean smiled kindly "if you say so" he said softly. He looked around "do you have aspirin because you might need it for awhile" he said winking. He put a hand on her shoulder " I am so sorry you had to go through that. I should have never left. This may not have happens if I stayed" he said sadly

Maye shook her hair "I don't want you to get hurt by my dad.... He just doesn't care who he hurts," she said, tears showing up again. "I need to find the aspirin.." She muttered and led him back upstairs and into her room. After he was in her room she shut her door and quickly locked it. "Aspirin..." She mumbled, digging through her drawer until she found it. "It's better in my room, he can't get in..." She murmured, looking at him.

Sean stayed silent while Maye led him to her room. He looked at her sadly before saying "I'd rather your father hurt me than you" he said softly "after all I don't really care if I get hurt. I am used to pain anyway. I just can't stand the fact that you are getting hurt. If he hurts you again I swear he will regret it" he said calmly with a small smile
