My name is Ethan James Reider. There's nothing special about it, no history or anything, so don't ask me about it. I usually only go by Ethan, because Ethan's a hard name to shorten. I am 17 years old. My birthday is December 2nd, 1995. Just in case you couldn't tell, which I really hope you could, I am a boy, male, whatever you want to call it. And I'm sorry boys, but I'm straight. I've been riding since I could walk, but I wouldn't really count the first few years as riding. It was more like sitting there and laughing as my mom led me around on our chubby little paint pony, Apache. I started really riding when I was 6 years old.
I'm the type of person that is never serious. I'm a joker, and I constantly joke around. I sometimes tease people, but I don't usually mean in in a bad way. I'm just trying to have a good time. I do things on my own time, not when anyone else tells me to, because I'm independent. But I'm a people person, and love to be around others, especially fun-loving people like myself. But sometimes I think people overlook me when things do get serious, because they think I'll just turn it into a joke. Sometimes they're probably right, I guess, but I still hate it when people pass me by. I'm very impatient and hate waiting for anything. It makes working with horses difficult, but I manage. I don't like to argue with anyone, and I'm pretty agreeable. I'm willing to make friends with pretty much anyone, as long as they have a sense of humor. If you're the boring type, then I'll probably avoid you altogether. Don't take it too personally. I'm open, outgoing, and honest, sometimes to the point of being brutal. But I'm a loyal friend, as long as you don't doubt me and trust me.
My past is behind me now, but I'll tell you about it anyway. I grew up on an acclaimed sporthorse breeding farm. We bred all types of star performance horses, from barrel racers to eventers and everything in between. Lots of crossbreeds, though we did breed purebred quarter horses and Hanovarians.i lived on the farm in Oregon with my mom and my older brother and sister. I never knew my dad. He ditched us shortly after I was born. Who knows where he is now. To be honest, I don't really care. I'd prefer he stay away. He left us, and has no right to come back. Anyway, both my siblings loved riding, and I was on horseback as soon as I could walk. I grew up with many amazing horses, and my world basically revolved around them. I loved them all, of course. Horses were my world. But when I was 14, something terrible happened. My sister's car veered off the road one night, and struck a tree. She was killed on impact. My family was in chaos, and I felt completely helpless. It was the worst feeling in the world. But one special horse helped me heal. His name is Jazz, and he's the sweetest, most docile horse you'll ever meet. He took care of me, I swear. He helped me every step of the way. That's my life. Now I'm here. Get the picture? Good.
My mom's name is Elizabeth Reider, and she co-owns and operates our breeding farm in Oregon. My older brother, Jackson, is aiming to become a famous barrel racer with his gorgeous dun quarter horse mare, Sun Sets In Paradise. I never met my dad, and my sister Maria was killed in a car accident when I was 14. I consider my horses part of my family. I brought two here with me, Jazz and Eclipse. I've also got my eye on Campless. They are ridden English, and I'm an eventer, though I also actively participate in show jumping and dressage. I currently have no crush and no girlfriend. ✯ Personality >>Jazz is a very sweet, friendly, docile horse who wouldn't hurt a soul. He is very trusting and will take care of any rider, no matter how experienced they are. He's been describe as a huge teddy bear, and isn't bothered by people loving on him. In fact, he loves to be the center of attention. He doesn't spook easily, and is very easy going. He can be a bit on the lazy side and often needs some extra pushing to get him to go, but he listens well when asked correctly.
✯ History >> Jazz doesn't have a very exciting history. He was born and raised on Ethan's mom's farm. At the age of two, he was chosen by Ethan to train as his own. He was willing to try anything Ethan asked of him, and with some work, he showed potential. He was injured badly when he was six. Ethan was trying a higher jump than he had ever attempted on Jazz, who balked, but made a clumsy jump right before the obstacle. He hit the solid cross-country jump, and landed hard on his right front leg. Jazz's leg twisted at an unnatural angle, and he was out for almost a year recovering. But once he healed, he came back equally strong and more bold, probably because he was afraid that balking at another jump would hurt him again. He became Ethan's safety net after his sister died, helping him to heal.

✯ Personality >>Stubborn, impatient, and demanding, Eclipse isn't exactly a friendly horse. He can be wild and unpredictable, and can be difficult to control at all. He is very spooky and will jump at things other horses don't even notice. But he has a powerful jump, though he isn't a great dressage horse. Eclipse is the type of horse that you have to asset your dominance over quickly, or else he will try to take advantage of you. But he isn't always a mean horse. Ethan will willingly tell you that he has his moments of sweetness.
✯ History >> Eclipse had the normal life for a domesticated horse. He was born on Ethan's mom's farm, raised there, and eventually picked by Ethan as a yearling because of his spirit. At the age of two, he was already jumping out of the pasture when he was left alone, which affirmed Ethan's decision to train him. He was broke at the age of three, and is still in training, though he is learning quickly.

Campless is a wily escape artist, who can get out of almost anything, so she needs to be watched carefully. She can be spooky and untrusting at first, but will warm up to most. Then, you'll find she has a sense of humor, a fiery determined side, and is highly intelligent and very clever.
History
Campless's name was earned at the age of two, when it was discovered that no one could keep her in the roundup camps set up by ranchers determined to catch the horses they allowed to roam the range. They were supposed to bring them back to their respective ranches for branding and sales, but one young filly just wouldn't stay. Campless had a knack for slipping out of anything that was supposed to hold her- she could open gates to paddocks and round pens, unlatch stall doors, and even slipped out of several lassos while nobody was watching. She could untie most knots and unbolt most latches, so she couldn't be contained. The owners of the ranch decided it was too much trouble, since every other day, the cry of, "The piebald filly's loose again!" could be heard ringing through the barn. Using more force than necessary, they managed to load her into a trailer and cart her away to the sales ring, where she was sold to an aging couple who only wanted a docile horse for riding and driving. It didn't take long for them to figure out Campless's little talent, after a call from their neighbors a mile away saying they had the horse. The woman wanted to keep her and break her in, but the man knew what a filly like this one needed- to be free. He knew of an island where the wild horses were protected, not rounded up, like on the American plains, so with the money they had set aside to keep her, he sent Campless away. She could be seen dashing from the plane, terrified, having quickly dislodged her handlers, in a streak of black and white. Since then, she's been living the life of a wild horse on the island.
