Bridget was on her way to the park, where all the local teen parents were supposed to meet that day. She had Jabez in a stroller- Lester had Jade- and was enjoying the sun on the way. Jabez was quiet the whole time. His sister was the more talkative one. She glanced at him every now and then to see if he was alright. By the time they reached their destination, he was asleep. She pulled the stroller shade above him and laid down a blanket to sit on. Lester had insisted they were too old for strollers, but Jabez didn't complain and she'd rather do that than carry him, or worry about him getting lost, or have to walk slow so he could keep up. She waited in the sun for others to show. She wondered what they would be like- after all, this is the first time they were meeting.

"Daddy, I don't wanna walk," Jade called, tugging on Lester's shirt. She was on the verge of tears, but he couldn't help but smile. "Alright, come here," he said, kneeling and picking her up. He put her on his shoulder and he heard her laugh. They were on the way to the park and it was a nice, sunny day. As they approached the meeting place, he spotted Bridget- early, as usual. He shook jade's hand lightly. "There's mommy! See her?" he asked, and smiled when he felt her nod.

Emilee took Avery's hand in her own. This time she was determined to make Avery at least try to walk. She smiled as Avery squeezed her hand and they took little baby steps to the park. Growing impatient Emilee picked up her darling little girl and carried her the rest of the way. She kissed Avery on the cheek and set her down gently on the grass when they got to the park.
