Darcy's smiled turne to a frown as he jerks a bit. She held his hand a bit tighter wondering what was happining in his dream. She bit her lip worried.

Maddox...
"I'm... Innocent..." I muttered, whimpering slightly. "Didn't... Didn't hurt him... Innocent..."
I jerked a bit, groaning as I tried to wake up. But I couldn't. Not alone.
"N-no... It wasn't me, I s-swear..."

Darcy squeezed his hand tight attempting to wake him up "Maddox wake up"she said loudly guessing he wasnt having a good dream

Maddox...
My grimace slowly disappeared as my dream went black. The only thing I could feel was the warmth from her hand. It was comforting and seemed to relax me, the warmth spreading throughout my body. I fell deeper into sleep, holding her hand slightly tighter. I pulled her hand to my cheek and as soon as it made contact, the warmth made me feel even more soothed and I sighed with contentment.

Darcy relaxed a bit when he calmed down, she blushed ever so slightly when he moved her hand to his cheek. She smiled letting it be there as she rubbed her fingers against his cheek

Maddox...
I stirred a bit, my nose twitching again. As she rubbed my cheek, I sighed, actually smiling a little bit. The warmth got more pleasurable and I could feel myself just slipping away from the world, weary and tired and-
WHOA WAKE UP.
I jerked awake suddenly, not allowing myself to feel the luxury of peaceful sleep. I definitely didn't deserve it. Monsters don't sleep, they don't rest.
Sadly, I was one of them. I didn't have that luxury.
"I... I can't... Can't go to sleep..." But already, my eyes were drooping and I was trying to keep myself from that warmth, from th-that... That-
Snap out of it! Wake up!

Darcy stopped rubbing his cheek with a small smile "oh okay" she said softly looking at him. He hadnt let go of her hand yet but she didn't care

"I can't sleep... Monsters don't sleep... M-monsters... D-d-don't.." My eyelids began to droop, my fatigue trying to defeat me. I jerked up and shook my head. "Have to... Stay awake... H-have to... S-stay aw-wa...." I jerked again, trying my best to keep myself from sleep. But the warmth from her hand kept trying to lull me into slumber.

Her father always wished for her to be the perfect daughter, so each time she did something wrong or out of order he would beat her, which caused her to grow cold with a heart of stone. When she turned 14 she ended up leaving home so she could finally be free and independent.
