Missy nodded. "She's... She'll be fine with it. If she patched you up, then she's letting you stay."

Zane nodded. "Good. This is much nicer than my house...Which by the way was in three pieces the last time I checked." He murmured.

"Well, we're here for the time being. You can stay as long as you like. Rest now. Dinner might be ready by the time you awaken." Missy said quietly.

Zane nodded and pulled the blanket over his lap. "M'kay." He murmured quietly and snuggled down into the warm comforters.

Missy took the empty bowl downstairs and washed it, setting it on the dish rack to dry. She sighed and picked up her backpack, filled with supplies and weapons. She would look for some pain medication, and also some paint. Missy had a plan in mind that she could read down some of the gaudy wallpaper in her room and do a mural.

Zane carefully nuzzled the pillow and sighed. "....This is nice.." He murmured softly.

"As soon as you're better, you're leaving." Missy said in a firm voice, turning on her heel and leaving.

"You never taught me that." Eliza said with a small frown. "You didn't teach me anything. I learned from watching, careful observations. Once Missy and Samuel came around, I was forgotten. Sit, Eliza! Stay, Eliza! Everyone wanted time with you. I was denied a father, then I was denied a father again."

"That's not fair, Eliza. I did teach you those things and you weren't forgotten," Derek corrected gently.

"People come to know life isn't fair. And neither is death." Eliza sighed. "Da, do you ever get to see Mum? And, where do you go when you're... Not here? Where I can see you? Do you just... Disappear?"

Derek smiled and chuckled lightly at her questions before answering, "I do get to see your mother, every day. As to where I go when I'm not here, that's a bit complicated to explain. I'll be here whenever you need me, even when you don't think you do."

"How do you get to see Mum if she isn't a guardian angel like you are?" Eliza asked. She had so many questions about the after life.
