Carter followed after River and pretended to breath heavily.

Nikki bit her lip gently, her cheeks a soft shade of pink.

Karkat smacked his head. ''I'm an idiot.''

Nikki tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, with a shy smile. She walked away from the spot she was standing in since he had walked away. "He'd want you to be happy, Nikki... Its what he'd want for you.." she whispered to herself "Your daughter needs someone to help you.." she murmured.

Karkat sighed and went back outside, finishing the drawing of Nikki.

Nikki sat back in the classroom, pulling out her golden locket that was always hidden beneath her shirt. He opened the locket at looked at the picture of Derek "You won't be replaced, no one can replace what we had, but our daughter needs me to fix this mess I've made..." she whispered and closed it, tucking it back in her shirt.

Karkat went back to class and sighed as his lip ring and ear piercings got him some attention. ''Emo! Goth!'' They called and he hissed, almost ready for a fight, until Gamzee strutted in with her cigarette. They immediately went quiet- they knew Gamzee would kill them with one fight.

Nikki flinched at the names and looked at Karkat with a sympathetic gleam in her eyes.

Gamzee bent to one of them and hissed. ''What was that you called my friend?'' Once he replied, she burned him with a smirk. ''Goths got spirit too.'' Karkat smiled weakly at Nikki.
