"You have a pretty nice set up, I confess." Kaiiyen said, walking inside the kitchen. Eliza was gone. "Eliza?" Probably wandering around the kitchen, she thought as she set the vegetables down. But you can never be too sure. "Eliza?"

Derek looked around for the little girl calling, "Eliza, where are you?"

Kaiiyen searched as well, finding the door to the hotel ajar. She prayed Eliza was okay as she ran outside.

Derek grabbed a rifle and headed outside. He called loudly, "Eliza!"

Kaiiyen broke off at a steady pace. It wasn't long before she came to a bush. Lying next to it, was Eliza's white shoe. Kaiiyen picked it up and looked around. "Eliza!!!!"

Derek whistled sharply and Caesar came bounding out. They ran up to Kaiiyen and Derek gently took the shoe from her. He knelt in front of Caesar who sniffed it eagerly. Handing the shoe back to her, Derek stood and gave one command, "Find her!" Caesar stuck his nose to the ground, trying to pick up the little girl's trail. With a bark, he ran off on a tangent; Derek called, "Come on, Caesar's got her trail." He ran after him, holding Kaiiyen's arm to help her along.

Kaiiyen nodded and ran after the dog. It was a short while before they came to a small pond. And Eliza was lying face down in the water. "Eliza!!!" Cried Kaiiyen, going into the water after.

Derek ran into the water and gently pulled Eliza out. Laying her down on the bank, he knelt to listen to her lungs. Not hearing anything, he murmured, "Dear God, no, don't do this." He started CPR on her, trying to force the water from her lungs and get her heart beating again.

Kaiiyen stood by, face impassive but eyes clouded with worry. Sean burst through the bushes, hearing the yelling and deciding to investigate. He caught sight of Eliza, and his eyes widened. "Oh no.."
Eliza shows no signs of life for a few minutes. But her eyes opened and she coughed up water, rolling onto her stomach to do so.

Derek gently helped her sit up, rubbing his hand up her back to help bring the water up. "Take it easy, you're okay now, little one," Derek said gently, glad that she was okay. He couldn't imagine her being lost, not now.
