Alice sighed and waited for Eliza to give in, studying the young girl with her curious eyes.

Eliza frowned and continued to stare up at her father. When her eyes narrowed, the look suddenly looked like a feminine version of Sean. It was funny how genetics worked.

Luka asked, "About what exactly? I don't think they meant us any real harm; they were just looking for their daughter."

Derek felt his heart drop into chest at the look at Eliza gave him, but pushed it down as he said, "Please don't make me force you to take this."

Jessica sighed." I know i just wanted to make sure it was them." She yawned and laid down tired.

Eliza continued to frown. She eventually shook her head. "No."

Alice sucked in a breath. "Bad decision." She muttered.

Derek grunted and said, "Okay then, you leave me no choice then, pigeon." He sat down on the bed and got Eliza in a leg lock, wrapping both of his legs around her waist so that she couldn't run. He reached from behind her head and pinched her nose and covered her eyes at the same time, forcing her mouth to open. Once it was open, he dropped the pill onto her tongue and poured the water into her mouth; he forced his hand under her jaw, forcing her mouth closed and covered both her nose and mouth with his hands and said, "Swallow and then you can breathe."

Luka shrugged and said, "Even in this day and age, no one else would have fought that hard to get their child back. Besides, she heard and recognized her father's voice."

Alice watched on. Derek used to do this to her when she refused to take medicine, but it always surprised her. She didn't feel bad for Eliza, it was something she had to learn. There was no sugar to make it go down better. Medicine was medicine.

Eliza barely even had time to move before the medicine and water was in her mouth. She struggled to breathe a moment, trying to take in air that wasn't there. She bashed her good hand against her father's chest uselessly. She tried to breathe, needed air. Eventually, she gave in and swallowed the fowl tasting pill and water.

Derek watched Eliza's throat and saw her swallow. He waited a minute then released her, standing up saying, "Sorry pigeon, but I didn't have a choice."

Alice sighed in relief when Eliza swallowed the medicine and turned to leave. Kaiiyen was standing in the doorway, studying the scene.

Eliza glared at her father, then turned and slowly crawled off the bed with one arm. Then she went over and hugged his leg.

Derek looked down at Eliza hugging his leg and knelt saying, "I'm sorry, pigeon. You'll feel better soon; Da will make sure of it."

Kaiiyen stepped into the room. "Nice to see she took the medicine." She said woodenly. But she didn't blame Derek for it, he was simply doing his job as a father.

Eliza buried her face in Derek's chest, arms around his neck. She wanted to be held now.

Alice watched them a moment. "Anyone hungry?" She asked, trying to not feel left out.
