Derek bowed his head respectfully and said, "I'm glad to hear that you agree. Please, help yourself to the food. I've already eaten today. There are drinks in the refrigerator if you like." He pointed to the giant silver door to show him.

"Thank you for your hospitality. I assure you we will contribute in any way we can. I can hunt. Kaiiyen has no problem cooking for the group and will do so happily. She's not too bad at it, either." Said Sean, turning his gaze to Kaiiyen, who was looking at some newspaper articles on the wall.

Derek smiled and said, "Cooking other than my own would be a nice change. Talk it over with her and let me know what you decide. If you stay, I can show you some good hunting spots around here."

"Sounds amazing. I'll just go talk to-" Sean started to say.

"I fought in the war too, you know." Said Kaiiyen, strongly albeit quietly. "I listened in. I'm fine to stay; I just want to get my daughter as quickly as possible in the morning."

Asher shook her head. "Nope, just me," she said.

Ceryni sighed. "Someone like you deserves to have someone..."

Derek nodded understandingly and said, "We can get her first thing in the morning if you like. If not, we can go now if you feel the need."

Kaiiyen had her knives gathered. "Now, please." She murmured. "I can't leave her this long."

Derek nodded and said, "We'll go now then." He led them out of the kitchen and grabbed a shotgun that was near the door. Slinging an ammo belt around his shoulders and double checking that the gun was loaded, he said, "Alright, let's go."

Kaiiyen nodded. "It's not too far. A ten minute walk, maybe the if we run." She was already ready, and it took Sean a minute to do so. When the bowls went up, Kaiiyen said prayer after prayer in her head, somewhat admiring and somewhat fearing Sean's calm yet deadly demeanour and Derek's bravery and generosity.
