Ceryni shook his head. "You should keep them. Plant them where ever you go. You never know what might happen..."

Derek glanced at her belly and asked, "How many months are you?" He looked back up at her and waited for her answer.

Asher nodded and pocketed the seeds. "So that's your secret for the fruit?"

Kaiiyen froze, pursing her lips before answering, "We think three." She knelt in front of Sean and gently tapped his cheek with her palm. "Second child."

Ceryni nodded. "I never stay in one place long, so when I can, I plant things. That way, if I go back, there's something waiting for me. It's good for a loner like me."

Asher nodded and smiled a little. "I'll have to start doing that," she said softly, staring down at her fruit.

Ceryni looked at her. "You don't have anyone?"

Asher shook her head. "Nope, just me," she said.

"Congratulations to the both of you. Now, I understand why you want to leave. You want to get home, to what's familiar to you," he said, glancing at a picture on the nightstand. In the picture frame was a photo of himself, a young woman and two children- a boy and a girl. He sighed and said, "Yes, I understand that perfectly. Are you sure you don't want to stay? As I said, I have more than enough room and this place is safe from the creatures out there."

Kaiiyen glanced at the picture as well, but didn't want to upset him by saying anything. "I don't know... When Sean awakens-"

"I've been awake the whole time, love." Said the Irishman, opening his emerald green eyes. "And, if it's too dark out, we can't be going anywhere." He stood up and dusted his jeans off. "If it's all right with you, may we stay the night? We won't be too much trouble, and you won't know we're here."
